  1. Attending a swingers hotel takeover can be a fun way to meet a lot of like-minded sexy people and enjoy a great weekend! Groups hold events all across the country. All events are different, but here is some advice to ensure that you get the most out of any hotel takeover. 1. Know What You Are Getting Into! Before paying to attend the event, make sure it is a FULL hotel takeover. Some events claim to be a hotel takeover but are actually only taking over one floor of the hotel. Or, they may have the whole hotel, but only for some of the nights. In either of these cases, you are dealing with situations that will open the hotel up to non-swingers. Non-swingers unsuspectingly stumbling into some swinger fun can lead to some less than desirable situations. 2. Reach Out Ahead of Time Once you have established that the event is a full takeover and you have decided to attend, try to find out who else might be going. Some events have online groups or websites where you can talk with other couples. In many cases, you can find a list of attendees on sites like Swinglifestyle.com. Check out the list and contact other couples who are attending to say hello and see if you can establish a line of communication BEFORE you get to the party. Reaching out online ahead of time will make it easier to connect with people in person at the event. 3. Theme Parties If the parties have themes attached to them, try to plan ahead to dress in theme. It just makes things more fun, and it's one more way to start conversations. 4. Get There Early If at all possible, arrive the night before the hotel takeover begins. Arriving early will allow you time to get comfortable with your room and work any kinks out that you may encounter as well as give you a chance to meet people before things really get going. If there is a hot tub, go hang out by it. If other swinger couples came early too, you will probably find them around the hot tub. 5. Don't Miss the 1st Day If you can't be there early, then at least be there when the party starts! With fewer people there on the first day, it is much easier to meet people around the pool and have a great time. It's also much easier to find an empty chair around the pool. Speaking of pool parties... 6. Pool Parties If there are pool parties, be at them! Some of the most fun is at the pool parties and often some great giveaways. Also, get up early to get a seat. Those pool chairs fill up quickly, so if you aren't up early, you may find yourself standing around to watch the action. 7. Don't Waste Time Be on time to the parties. Again, if you aren't on time, you may find yourself standing all night. Plus, if you are early or on time, you can easily meet and mingle with others as they arrive rather than coming in after things have already gotten started and finding yourself just wishing you had a place to sit or even stand! 8. Be Aware of the Rules! The event sponsor signed a contract with the hotel binding them to certain conditions. The most common is no sex in public places, and it may include no nudity in certain areas. Be aware of the rules, and don't break them! Invariably someone always pushes the boundaries, and the hosts hate to be the bad guys. But if the wrong people see the wrong thing (think hotel manager seeing you give a blowjob at the pool), they can shut the whole event down, not just for this time but for future events too. So don't kill everyone's fun. Just because it's an adult event doesn't mean you don't have to act like a responsible adult! 9. The Best for Last - The Party Rooms! Party rooms are where all the action takes place! Be courteous. If you aren't playing, don't stand around gawking or having a conversation a few feet from someone who is playing. Keep your distance or find somewhere else to hold your conversation. And if you do want to play, then get in there! Always ask first. No always means no, no questions asked. Just because you're a swinger and you are there, and they are swingers and they are there, doesn't automatically mean they want to have sex with you! Most events have several party rooms to suit your needs and moods and help you find compatible people, so enjoy them! Any other tips you want to share? Post them below!
  2. My hubby and I are new to the lifestyle, although we've been discussing it for years. We've had one soft experience with another female (kinda...lol), but what we really want is to develop a friendship and play with another couple. We're thinking of attending the National Swingers Convention in Las Vegas next week. It's hosted by JP Just Parties. We've never heard of this company before. Is this a legit convention, or what? We're skeptical because you have to prepay only and it doesn't give the exact location (will be given in an email, after you've purchased). Is this the standard? Has anyone ever attended this before? Are we setting ourselves up for a disaster by attending this, or should we get our feet wet at a smaller venue first? Sorry for all the questions....we're slightly nervous
  3. Friday morning. I guess this will be a bit of a travel log. Got to the airport at 6:00am on Thursday morning to the most unbelievably slow check in line at the airline. Then they said that we were too late to get our luggage on the plane. Then, the line at TSA was backed up half way around the airport! We got on the plane just as they were closing the door. The flight was good and short, only two hours. Upon arrival, we went to the baggage claim anyway. Boy were we happy when we spotted our first bag! Everything made it! So there is hope for the day! We arrived at the hotel at 10:00am. Now, they had said that check in was at 4:00pm. So everyone should have been prepared for that, but obviously many weren’t. So we checked in understanding that our room would not be ready for a while because there had been another convention here and a lot of the attendees of that one didn’t check out the day before as expected. The hotel is excellent, very attractive, and when we got there finally, the room was great. Pools and beach are excellent. But make sure you bring either a lot of cash, your credit card has space. Drinks are at resort prices, i.e. expensive! Check in for SwingFest was supposed to open at 11:00am, but they were about 15 minutes late. Now, I knew that this was their first event, so I was going to be tolerant of little glitches as much as possible. A lot of the problems that we experienced were really tied to the difficulty of registering early for this event. After this is all over, I am sure that the owner of this event will either get these things fixed, or slit his throat! But they did jump through hoops to fix things. Considering the confusion at first, it didn’t take long to check in at all. Probably the biggest problems were caused by attendees. There was a long line at the event desk, and long lines at the hotel registration desk. Some people are just plain jerks! Standing at the registration desk yelling about their room not being ready and demanding comps was just plain rude, and it kept the clerk from doing his job, which was to get us in our rooms! What an ass. Of course the pay back was that I patiently worked with one of the clerks and we had our key and our room while that ass was still down their complaining. Also the hotel slapped on some restrictions that weren’t there before because some jerk called the hotel a couple of weeks ago trying to arrange for something and decided to try to make a threesome date with the young lady he was talking to. The hotel is packed with swinging couples and I understand that the overflow has gone to other hotels in the area. Talked to one couple who is staying at the Roof Top, and they say that place is a real dive. All age groups, races, etc., and they have come from all over the world. We have met a lot of really nice people! Ok, problems. The biggest problem has been one of unintended consequences. They originally set this up so groups could all have rooms together. So everyone had their room numbers weeks in advance. This was a good idea from a swing event standpoint, but a logistical nightmare for the hotel. This is what caused the long delay in everyone getting their rooms. As the cleaned the hotel from the previous event, the rooms became available as they worked. But unfortunately, as our reservations were tied to a specific room, not class of room, we had to wait until that specific room was available. Honestly, I wouldn’t have thought of this as a problem in advance either. Also a couple of the seminars that were originally listed as included, now that we have arrived, are not. I haven’t checked into this yet, but I will let ya’ know what they say about it. Also there have been complaints voiced about the fact that there is no nudity at the pool. From talking to the owner of the event there are two reasons for this. The first is that when they started planning this event, the pool was positioned so that it is private. But since the beginning, a high rise condo has been completed and that privacy no longer exists. Also the jerk who hit on an employee made the hotel really clamp down. A group had a meet-n-greet last night. We went for a little bit, but honestly, we had been on the go since 3:30am, had been sitting in the bar visiting and sipping beer for 6 hours waiting for our room, and we were pooped. So both of us were snoozing by 10:00pm. But the party was started. It could still be heard at 3:00am this morning, and people were in the pool. Overall, this is a pure swinger’s event so far. But the day is young, and I will send ya’ another report tomorrow!
  4. We have been considering attending the convention for the first time and hope someone here can help us with a few questions. We have reviewed the website and even called them but we are still unsure. The reasons we are waivering is the cost of the convention itself, $688.00. The problem for us is that we are not sun goddess types so the pool would be limited, the seminars don't really interest us and I can see exhibits of sex toys right here in town. I've been to lots of magic shows so I don't really need to see another one. What that leaves us with is $688.00 for 3 dances and 2 dinners. So, those of you that have gone as a full paying attendee, is it really worth the cost? Is there more to this than advertised? What are we missing? Surrender We need some tips from those of you that have gone before us.
