Swingtown creator goes BiCoastal in new drama | Entertainment | Television | Reuters

This might mean that no one has picked up Swingtown.

Not necessarily. Creators are always creating new shows and once he figured out that Showtime wasn't going to take Swingtown he may have figured out what hole they did need to fill and created a different show to fill it.

I'll agree though. I think these folks have to make hay while the sun is shining. You get one show out, then you better take advantage and get anything else out you can.

Was it Stephen J Cannell that knocked out about 87 shows in the mid 80's?

(87 might be a slight exaggeration)

Oh yeah... no reason why a creator cannot have more than one show on the air at any given moment. Aaron Spelling had quite a few going at any given moment. David E. Kelley had at least two or three. And Donald Bellisario had at least two at a time during his heyday.

Strike while the iron's hot is usually the way to go in the entertainment

I read the same thing somewhere else, and it specifically said CBS hasn't made up their mind about Swingtown yet, but that several execs were still strongly behind it. So, we shall see.

This isn't Mike Kelly's first show either. Did some research and it looks like it might be the first one he's created but he was a writer/ producer on The OC, Jericho and a couple of others before launching Swingtown.

I think it was Aaron Spelling that was cranking out a ton of shows then.

Spelling holds the record for most prolific television producer, with 218 producer and executive producer credits.

Can be purchased as a DVD set. The set is entitled Swingtown - The First Season. A misnomer, of course, as there never was a first season.

Is Swingtown likely to make a comeback on TV? Or, are other similar shows exploring the swinging lifestyle planned by other networks?

Both of us, (husband and wife) watched Swingtown and kind of enjoyed it.

We were looking forward do seeing the vanilla wife get laid by one of the swinger males. The show went off the air before she could get to experience sex with another man.

Darn. I just recently cancelled all my preminum channels to save $60.00 a month.

If this show gets on Showtime I guess I'll have to resubscribe.

Hope it makes it, we loved Swingtime.
