Interesting article. I wasn't expecting a positive spin on the show but it gave it one. It seems like the critics are warming up to the show that they so wanted to hate when it started. I noticed links there for some past articles from the NY Times on the show.... http://www.nytimes.com/2008/05/11/ar...ref=television I've been wondering which couple was based on Mike Kelley's (the shows creator) parents... it seems from this article it's Bruce & Susan to a tee... And this interview with Grant Show... http://www.nytimes.com/2008/08/03/ar...ef=television# |

Ginia Bellafante's column is the best one we've ever read about Swingtown that was written by a non-swinger. Thank you for sharing that. There are a lot of things to appreciate about Swingtown that doesn't have anything to do with the lifestyle.

Interesting article indeed, that did much as the show itself captures parts of the realities for some swingers during that time. I started swinging in the early 70's and I witnessed and learned from much back then of what we are seeing on the show now. The couple that sets rules and maintains workable parameters that can change based upon the situation. Then there are the others that enjoy what it has to offer but struggle with how they fit in. And finally those that may never fit in at all and lose what was a workable marriage. But the bottom line is we were all curious about it and pondered the posibilities even if we morally couldn't get ourselves wrapped around the idea. My wife and I love the show and always try to figuer what we would do to avoid the pitfalls. Sure am glad we are much like Tom and Trina.
