I thought it was a really good show last night but the ending certainly bombed the show. Well, now it looks like Susan and Bruces kids know. about fhem. wow, and their daughter is under age to sleep with her old teacher. The end. "Who's up for an omelette?" In a real situation, the ladies would probable been nude by that time and it kind of look like Susan wasn;t going to get laid because Doug only likes to watch Lorrie...but just before they caught Laurie. I think Doug was going to do her.

We're getting the biggest kick out of this show To us it seems that they have definitely done their research...they're just getting too many things right. I loved the beginning scene where the three couples were sitting around talking and Tom and Trina were telling them they had decided to take a break for a while and explaining why. Brad made the comment...That's the difference between cheating and swinging. I wish they had elaborated and stressed that point a bit more. I feel it would have shown people there is a big difference between the two. Tom and Trina have been so good throughout all the episodes with stressing that open and honest is the only way it works but, I don't think many have picked up on that. Pong: OMG ! That was the only video game I was ever any good at Quote:

I love Tom and Trina....to me they are such good babysitters/mentors. They're not pushy about their lifestyle. They just tell things the way they are and ask questions so that those they are talking to have to really think. The scene with Tom and Janet was very good. Ted's comment on that scene was, "I've done that before." Tom didn't tell Janet that she should swing, he just pointed out to her that she shouldn't cut herself short, she was a beautiful and desirable woman...telling her things to really make her think. Bruce to me is being an asshole. He doesn't know how to deal with Susan coming into her own. He wants her to follow him and ask no questions. Her thinking for herself and voicing her opinion is new to him. Doug and Laurie: Teacher/student relationships are nothing new...it still goes on today and in the 70s it wasn't as big of a deal as it is now. I'm not sure why that story line is in the show, maybe because it did and does happen. Bruce and Susan have every right to be upset...no parent wants their child to get involved with something that they're not ready for...Laurie is portrayed as an extremely intelligent girl but, her maturity level is a bit lacking. It will be interesting to see how they deal with explaining the difference between an adults sexuality and that of a teenagers. Great episode! We're looking forward to next weeks episode. Teresa

As someone who is still in the information-gathering stage, I am very grateful to the writers and producers for being as realistic as they can be in a primetime drama. By that, I mean that they are (by most accounts) accurately portraying various aspects and emotions, but not over-dramatizing things (well, not too much anyway) so that it becomes a farce. It has helped to spark our curiosity and see some fairly realistic situations played out. I can imagine us attending a club in the future, though it will probably be off-premise. I know that we will both have that "fish out of water" look ourselves. Roger and Janet's reactions at the club and afterwards at the Deckers' were priceless. I can't help but think that Janet is really struggling with the way her hidden desires and curiosities are conflicting with her obvious upbringing and "perfect wife" persona. She and Roger are starting to be able to open some communication and push some boundaries -- I'm still betting that they end up joining the fun before all is said and done. I just hope they don't push it too quickly.Susan and Bruce -- wow. Until Bruce can come to grips with the fact that his wife is no longer the quiet, straight-laced "June Cleaver" woman, they are gonna have problems. He is so uncomfortable with her independence in other areas, yet he certainly has no complaints when she wants to expand their relationship sexually. Looks like he goes off the deep end next week. If this were a real couple, I would worry for their future. I love Tom and Trina as well -- so intelligent, so respectful of the other couples. They may not always make the best spur-of-the-moment decisions, but they are fantastic about communicating with each other and with the others. Tom's conversation with Janet (topped off with the kiss) was perfect. We know a couple that participate in the lifestyle and have hung out with them a couple of times. I think they know we are curious about it, and I hope that when the subject comes up that they can be "mentors" much the way the Deckers are. Enough for now. |

I think an omelette is a perfect metaphor for the way the themes were so scrambled in this episode - I would like to see the "director's cut". Too many of the scenes were formulaic and sooooo predictable. I think there's something not quite right about Jannet looking so surprised every time she gets a chance to observe a little swinger interaction or nudity. This is the peak of the "hippy love" era, she has some exposure to it in the news. She shouldn't need to swallow hard every time she observes something sexy. I do like the way Jannet is getting more comfortable with Tom. Trina's muffin ploy suggests something manipulative about her that would make me very cautious. Who in their right mind would bring petrified muffins as a friendly gesture while they're still stuck in the original baking pan? Especially as a gift to Mrs. Betty Crocker! Crawling out of a room in an attempt to escape detection doesn't sound like the behavior I would associate with a "philosophy professor". Kicking the popcorn bowl in the scramble is just too predictable. |

Regarding making the omelette, we actually laughed at first because we thought that Brad's munchies had overtaken his sex drive! In the next scene we find out he is a voyeur, which is something that should have been brought up before any playing started, of course. That part seemed deceptive and unrealistic, since this would probably not happen in real swinging - revealing you're only a voyeur at the last minute. Poor Susan!

The writers threw in practically everything but the kitchen sink -- voyeurism, getting caught by the kids, the surprises in store for newcomers, the role of single women, a couple "taking a break". The writers are either "in the lifestyle" or have some exceptionally good sources of information about the lifestyle.

| For Pittsburgh's CBS station, the first commercial break had a public service announcement. "Do you think your doctor enjoys doing this?" The doctor has a latex gloved hand, is holding an index finger up, and urging men to have an examination.

| Swingers Board Addict | Katrina is liking Bruce less and less every episode. He keeps seeming more like an ass every time we see the show. I find it very amusing that he doesn't seem to be able to cope with Susan changing, growing and seeking some independence; speaking her mind and having opinions. Yet he finds girls like Melinda and Trina attractive and desirable given that they have opinions, are independent, speak their mind etc. I find that happens to a lot of guys.

![]() I also burst out laughing at the expressions on Doug's face when he and Laurie were hiding while watching the unfolding "action." The whole show was a hoot! Mrs. Alura and I loved it! Mr. Alura

So much to talk about in this episode! Trina was great at befriending Janet again. Janet looked great once she was out of the "housewife garb." The right clothes do make a woman feel sexy. The unicorn was flirting with Roger, but no one was flirting with Janet. Wonder why? I bet Janet and Roger had wild, monkey sex after leaving the club. They have lots to talk about, but I think they'll be "in" very soon. It bothered me how Sylvia and Brad didn't reveal their dynamic sooner (he likes to watch). The scene with their daughter makes me glad we go out of state to party. ![]() Overall, a great storyline. Mrs. D |
