Did anyone notice Janet when she got to the party and was surprised at what kind of party it was? She said something to the effect of "This sounds like so much fun, I thought all your parties were orgies!" This tells me that she went to the party expecting an orgy. I think she is going to be the most level headed of the whole bunch by the end of the season. I just hope we get to see them all and the moral minority doesnt get the show cancelled.

I've been thinking about Janet as I just re-watched the last couple of episodes and I really think that we (and her husband and friends) are not giving her nearly enough credit. I think she is exactly what we see so often here. Her husband and her friends treat her like a china doll always scared she is going to break at any little thing. However, she's shown over and over again when given the chance that there is so much more to her. She showed up at the benefit for a porn actor and even discovered she could be friendly with him. When her husband finally got the balls to tell her that he'd lost his job and wanted something MORE out of life and his profession she said "You got it" and let him know that she was there for him whatever he needs.

I think she wants to be more than just the "wife and mom" that she has been relegated too but isn't often given the chance to do so. When the opportunity is given to her to show that she can/is more than that she seizes it gladly. Granted at the same time she is a wife and worried about her family and money so she is pushing Roger a bit to just get a job (something I think we would all do in the same situation where money IS an issue). And yes she reacted pretty bad when she found the picture in Trina's closet but as someone else' pointed out in another thread she had just discovered that both her husband AND her best friend had been lying to her about multiple things.... on both counts because they were worried about HER reaction. Rather than giving her a chance they both lied and hid the truth. After the truth came out she tried to get Roger to open to her and explain why he felt the need to lie to her but instead of taking the opening, he took it as an attack and walked away.

Moral: Guys, when your wife asks you a question or asks you to explain yourself or what you meant by something or why you did something, don't take it as an attack, take it as an opportunity to really open up and be honest.

Communication problems in a relationship are rarely one sided. You have to be willing to open up and take the risk of being honest, before you can expect the other half to open up and accept what you have to say. And there will be questions, just understand that the questions are not there as an attack but rather to understand.

Well as a person who at times has problems vocalizing my emotions (oooohhh, but give me a pen or a keybooard and all bets are off lol )...I think that Roger did the best he could when he said that things always have to be so perfect for her...and then couldn't figure out how to say anything else he was thinking. Perhaps he couldn't find the words without being hurtful and rather than hurt her, he walked away.

Janet seemed quite flabbergasted by that comment, perhaps because she doesn't perceive herself as the 1976 version of Martha Stewart that demands/expects perfection? I really do like that they are giving Janet more depth and that she has shown that she isn't the fragile little thing that needs to be protected.

Guys sometimes feel trapped when they are asked a question and don't know how to respond. I usually will answer by saying I know that this isn't going to come out right but... At least I have some wiggle room if I see her really upset. I'm really good on my feet and I can turn situations most of the time. I do it in the classroom, in business but my wife sometimes scares the crap out of me.

I don't have a clue as to how to answer a question that a woman poses. Guys just answer but women tend to over analyze an answer in my opinion.

Wow. Beachguyz, you sure hit the mark there.
Wives scare the shit out of us. Because we have so much invested and so much to loose. Sort of like Tom does with Trina. A wife can put a man on the defensive every time so fast it is not even funny.
And they know it too.

This is really interesting to me... perhaps a topic for another thread.

I love Janet's character. To me one of the huge benefits of the lifestyle is that women are encouraged to cast aside (at least for the moment) the societal binds that keep us from being the sexual beings we really are. How many of us were uptight Janets before we were introduced to the lifestyle?

I was a Trina, but my ex-husband wanted a Janet. I was very young and not comfortable with my "Trina-ness", so I tried to be a cookie-making, vanilla wife. I wasn't very happy.

That was another life and I'm happy now. First thing I did after the divorce 4 years ago- a threesome! My 2nd husband and I were exclusive for the first couple of years we were together, but he knew who I was and where we WOULD be going from the start and he was happily along for the ride.
