NOTE: Swingtown moved to FRIDAY!

Just a quick note to let everyone know that Swingtown has been moved to Friday nights (same time). Double-check your DVR/Tivo/VCR if necessary.

This can’t be good news. CBS has announced that Swingtown is moving to Friday nights at 10pm. The timeslot that TV shows go to die. The reason is simple: ratings. The show hasn’t done all that well in recent weeks, usually dropping a little with each new episode. In the meantime, the networks other summer series, Flashpoint, debuted with a very solid 8.13 million viewers, and didn’t shed too many of those viewers in its second week. That show will be moving to Swingtown’s original timeslot, Thursday’s at 10pm.

I know - I'm disappointed, especially since the ratings over the past two episodes have actually increased (modestly, but an increase nonetheless).

Hopefully it will get its full 13-episode run and return as a replacement mid-year next year (or at least next summer).

Friday night is bad news for a show like this - really bad time slot!

I agree! With any show that gets moved to a Friday night at 10pm is always bad news as that usually means the ratings are not so great. I hate that it got moved as the weekends we are so busy we don't watch TV much so we will have to record it now and watch it. I hope as well that we will at least get to see the 13 episodes that were already done.

Just stinks! I hate that they did this.

I'm still showing it on Thursday from my Cable company and tivo, but looking at the schedule on the CBS website it looks like they've flipped the timeslots for FlashPoint and Swingtown.

GRR.... ok, just set up a manual recording of the show. I know for us it means it's even less likely we'll watch the show WHEN it airs and probably won't see it till sometime during the weekend.

Okay, I am not impressed at all. I had my PVR set to record Swingtown every Thursday at 10 and there were no commercials showing the day was changin. I switch my cable on tonight to find out that Swingtown was not being recorded but the new episode was airing but it show on the listings as Flashpoint so the PVR didn't record it at all.
Now I keep looking for the listings to see if it will air tomorrow night and NOTHING!!! I am not impressed because I missed episode 8 completely. I know my sex slave will not be happy either because he watches it on Friday mornings when he gets home from work.
What they hell are the CBS people doing?

I was all set to send out a cry for help when I turned on the boob tube tonight and couldn't find it on. Glad I logged on and found out that at least it wasn't gone all together. Whew!!

I guess it might be on the way out, if all I read here is true. Too bad. Seems to happen to most of the shows I like. SIGH

I was very surprised when I happened to be home on a Friday night and was scrolling through the channel-guide and noticed that "Swingtown" was airing at 10:00 (it was already 10:45 when I saw this)

...and to add to my disappointment - I realized that it was a NEW episode.

Damn... this is not a great time-slot, although "Numb3rs" didn't do too badly there for a little while. But this is not a place where shows get a lot of support from the network.

(*sigh*) ... I knew it probably wasn't going to last - but I was hoping for more than the few episodes we did get.
