Advertisers Reactions to Swingtown

Advertisers Don't Party With CBS's Swingers - Advertising Age - MediaWorks

According to the above, one advertisers recieved (OMG

) 5 complaints from viewers regarding their ad being run during Swingtown.

On the upside as of June 26, Swingtown was still winning the time slot... if it can keep doing that the advertisers won't care if they piss off 5 people.

Only FIVE complaints and the advertiser runs out on them.

I would be more inclined to not buy that companies products because they run so easily.

Still winning the time slot. Hopefully they will find some sponsors with some guts to keep the show going.

Bottom line is just that, the bottom line. Maybe it is time for people that like the show to write the sponsors and tell them Thanks for sponsoring the show.

They are so used to getting hate mail from groups it will shock them to get some nice letters about something they do.

Given the conniption fit that the PTC had about the show, I'm quite shocked that number isn't much, much higher. Many PTC members will blindly rip off letters to the FCC and/or advertisers without having actually watched the content in question at their behest.

Meh, this was bound to happen. Honestly, this show or something like it should have been created for Showtime in the first place. If it continues to be popular, it will draw new advertisers which will make up for the ones who wimp out and leave.

Really, as well as it IS doing on network tv, I would not be surprised that if CBS dropped it if it wouldn't get picked back up by a cable network.

It's the classic battle of creativity vs. dollar signs, and the dollar signs almost always win.

My question is why did they complain about the commercials if they were watching the show? Funny how people watch things they hate.
