I was curious about this. Manimal and I already have a very open and extremely communicative relationship but I will admit that watching episodes has caused us to talk about our participation in the lifestyle a bit more. We talk about how would we react to some of the situations that have happened during the episodes. Would we have reacted the same way as the character did? What would we do differently, if anything? My point is...Do you think this show will not only affect the curious, but the experienced as well? Will it teach you how to deal with the same situations or would it give you insight on how you should have or shouldn't have dealt with something that already happened? |

I would say no, cuz we already discuss and talk about everything. I think it made us discuss how some couples dont discuss stuff. We believe our communication and commitment to each other are what makes us so strong. |

We certainly enjoy discussing each episode and I guess it may have had some minor value for us in terms of the situations presented but nothing really significant.

We, too, like to discuss the show. But if it has improved any communication, it has been with our son. Eighteen walked into our bedroom where we were watching the show and asked, "What's this?" (We rarely watch prime time TV.) "Swingtown," I replied immediately. "What's it about?" "It's kind of a grown-up 'Seventies Show'," I answered. "It touches on issues of the times, free love, sex, drugs and rock n roll. The music is great!" "Okay... well maybe I'll watch it sometime." He left. Moments later I heard the sound of his guitar coming from the den. Mr. Alura |
