Hoping to repair the damaged friendship, Susan asks Janet to help plan a housewarming party, but Trina rattles things with a padded guest list and a twist on fondue.

If you saw the previews for this upcoming show it looked like the "twist on fondue" was something to the affect of if you dropped your fruit (or whatever they were dipping) in the fondue then you had to kiss someone other than your spouse.

Yup... I sure see the show taking a very multi-dimensional stance in this episode. There were many conflicts, both internal and external.. Seems like the plot thickens

Should be fun!!

I think it would be safe to say that. We're gonna have to watch this one three times before we pick up on all the sublties. The plot thickens.

This just keeps getting better. I was really surprised by Roger's reaction to Bruce's admission. Seemed like just as Janet was starting to open up a bit, it was a step backwards for Roger. I do have to wonder if perhaps he wasn't more upset and feeling betrayed by Bruce not telling him sooner than by what Bruce & Susan actually did

Loved the wallpaper / writing on the walls thing. It's a really great metaphor for what is coming down the road.

I thought the whole jealousy issue (and how it was dealt with) between Susan and Bruce was very well done.

I loved the discussion between the boys & Bruce & Roger. That was great.

We loved the episode. It started by looking rough. I thought it was going to be another jealousy ruins swinging story. It totally redeemed itself though as the story progressed. I don't know where the story is going. I wish it were not set in the tacky, drug infested 70's but I understand the premise - nobody still swings right lol.

Every day we work through the challenges that swinging adds to our relationship. At the same time, we enjoy the benefits.

We can see our lives reflected in the lives of the characters in this program. Maybe they will help us through some of OUR rough patches lol.

Loved this episode as well..........I was a little shocked by Roger's reaction to Bruce telling him about the 4th and swapping. I do think that the dislike between Trina & Janet will start to subside with time......they are starting to find some common ground (recipes lol)..........

I knew it was only a matter of time before Laurie and her teacher where addressed more directly.............

Trina's fondue party starter was great!!!!!

And you could see Trina's hand in getting Brad & Sylvia to sit down with Susan to talk and get to know each better - it was very clever of Trina.........

Looking forward to next weeks episode already!

My wife pointed out that Sylvia was in another of our favorite shows... The L Word. (She played Dana, a lesbian tennis star that died of cancer, and I was sorry to see her go.) I think Trina was working hard to get Janet to like her so Susan will feel that her life isn't spiraling out of control. I also think Laurie might be heading towards figuring out what her parents are doing. Overall I loved the episode and it seemed to go buy very quickly.

I think that is a 8MM movie camera. Looks like the one we had. Yes, they were that small.

That was not a video camera, beta isn't going to come along til the early 80's. The movie camera that they were showing is what was known as a Super 8 movie camera. Called that because it used film that was 8mm. You had to send it in to be processed. Once it was processed you received a reel back that you used a projector to play it on. It was somewhat popular because it was an affordable way to record moving pictures. If you compare the quality by todays video standards it is not that great, but back then it was pretty good. It was meant to be a way for the "average" family to be able to capture events on movie film. Believe it or not but the film is still avalible today and in some circles is still quite popluar.

Just another (CBS Writers') ploy to build in even more tension, I suppose. And a possible motive hit me a bit after the show ended. Roger needed to work out his jealousy that Mr. Decker got to Sue before he did. Ole' Bruce may have some of his own jealousy to work out (and regret about his loose tongue) once Roger comes to realizes that this may mean he finally has an opening to take the lid off the mutual desire that has been simmering in every scene with him and Sue since (in episode 1) their look of longing in the side view mirror, as Sue's family drove off to their new digs. Now, how will Roger work past Janet to finally make a play for what he wants?

Damn! What has happened to me? I'm analyzing a soap opera and pondering what will happen next, as if the character's actions were motivated by their desire rather than the network's ratings desire. LOL

Manage a Trois is showing his age by explaining the super 8 format in such detail, but it is certainly appropriate for those younger folks who are watching.

He is right about the super 8 format still being popular in some circles. A few months ago I sold my old super 8 projector on Ebay to a collector in New York City.

2GettingStarted,

I was of the same feeling that Roger was more upset that someone else besides his good friend and spouse of Susan had their way with her as he has been harboring a very heavy attraction for her for years.

willyoats,

I'll show my age too... I remember those movie cameras... my dad had one. Matter of fact he had our family home movies transferred to video tape... then he, all by himself captured and made DVDs of them later. I'm so proud of my dad... he's such a geek at heart and he didn't even know it.

I am very impressed with where this story is going and all the subtle and not so subtle issues that each couple has to work through.

Can't wait to see the next one... (Yup, my wife really enjoys this show too!)
