| Delightfully Naughty | The bad news first. A judge in Quebec (Canada) convicted five people of Running a common baudy house (A 'common bawdy-house' is any place used 'for the purpose of prostitution or the practice of acts of indecency.') and/or being present in a common baudy house. The house in question was a on-premise swingers club. The good news: The judge in quesiton said "that Canadian society would tolerate swingers clubs, as long as the sexual acts that take place in those clubs take place in private." The net result, on-premise swing clubs which are few and far between in Canada (most of them located in Quebec) will likely sprout up everywhere. | Only slightly cracked... Join Date: Jul 2001 Posts: 7,071 Location: Seattle Status: Married Couple | Interesting articles! I'm curious though, how many people does it take to constitute an 'orgy'? Is a threesome one, or a foursome? And, what constitutes 'public' sex. If everyone is participating and no one is watching, is it OK? Would standing there masturbating be considered 'participating'? I think this raises more questions than it answers... Thanks for posting it! -B

| Delightfully Naughty | I'd say that *some* club owners don't want to take that chance on having on-premise activity. But from other swingers that I talk to, there are a lot who want on-premise clubs. Club owners are listening and seeing as this ruling has popped up, some club owners may give the people what they want. I believe that it's only going to be a matter of time before on-site clubs start to pop up. |

so as long as there is a CHOICE - in clubs - I'm sure there will be some of each... I have *heard* that it is generally Quebec that does favour the on-premise and makes it into the news with the most regularity. AND that they have indeed *occasionally* deserved the harsh rulings they have received in the past. While I am sure that there may be other cities/locations that want to go ON-premise... and far be it for me to dictate to other swingers BUT I very much hope that MY local club does not ...or I will be forced to go looking for an alternate club. Fine the court ruling made swinging legal... but it already was.. wasn't it... as long as it took place privately I thought it was really interesting that this club was run by the man and HIS daughter... where's his wife/ SO in all of this? And I'd like to cast my vote for DREADFUL - I'd like things to stay the way they are...

| Posts: n/a | With the recent rulings in both Ontario, and BC allowing same sex marrage, I would think any kind of laws that prohibit non-profit, adult, consensual sexual activity in Canada will soon be on the way out. Pretty soon it'll be like Holland here! walk down the street smoking a fatty, pick up a hooker and have her give you a hummer while you watch a live sex show. ![]() |

This apparantly is a set up where junkies can come in ... obtain clean needles and shoot up under medical supervision... apparantly they have nursing staff on hand to assist in the event of overdose or whatever...

| Swingers Board Addict | Trends have historically started in California and moved east. Looks like maybe Canada will lead the way in some other areas. Just hope the good ones do. And I agree that the recent privacy ruling in the US will start eliminating the consenual sexual regulations currently on the books. |
