Under the Blanket Game

50 years ago, man that is a long time, I was about 9 years old. Our neighborhood consisted of young couples, with baby-boom kids (me), most of the husbands were just a few years out of the military after serving in WWII. The couples were early to late 20's

New housing track, back then no pre-planted lawns, or any fences between the houses. All the neighbors worked together with each others to plant grass, build fences, etc. Nobody locked their doors.

Because of this they all became good friends, and would have weekly barbques, Saturday night poker parties, etc. All of us kids played together, had campouts at each others houses. etc.

With the scene set.

When I stayed at a friends house overnight we would spy on our parents, when they were having a party. They played a game called under-the-blanket. One of the wifes, always wifes never husbands, would get under a large blanket. The others would secretly decide what article of clothing the person had to hand out from under the blanket before they could come out.

Many times it would be shirt or skirt, so when they came out they might be in bra and panties. As time went on the artice of clothing would change to bra so there were a lot of topless women at the end. Some would get smart hand out her bra but put her shirt back on.

Now the game was for the person under the blanket guess which article, while the others tried to choose an article that would cause the blanket person to be as naked as possible.

My friend and I saw a lot of naked women, great fun, but these were our parents and their friends so no "excitement".

They didn't have swinger parties, like we might think of them, but I'm sure there was some hanky-panky going on. Does that mean we might be swingers because of genitics..another form toipc I suppose.

It might be a fun game to play now with several couples

I've never heard of the game, but it's interesting to think that somewhere, there's a woman in her 70's telling her companions at the rest home...

"You know, many many years ago, when I was a young woman, we played this game after the kids were in bed..."

I've often wondered what happened to that first generation of "swingers," the ones who often posed for magazine ads in dark glasses or with those black rectangles over their eyes. Many of them would be in their late 70's now. How long were they active? What was it like back in the days of Polaroids and mail that was forwarded (for a buck) to people whose ad you saw in a magazine? I've known a couple of women who were active in this into their late 60's. If I ever cross paths with them again, I'll have to pick their brains a little.

For that matter, what about the thousands of young women who did the old 8mm XXX shorts "back in the day?" Where are they now? I know of only one, and that's only because she's married to a buddy of mine, a successful professional. But what of the others? They'd all be grandmas now. Did they keep copies of the flicks they performed in? Do they worry about being recognized somewhere, someday?

The sexual revolution gave us a lot of freedom to do various things, but not to talk about them. A peek inside some of those closets would be most interesting...

P.S. - Anybody know where I can get a copy of a XXX movie from the late 60's called "Century 69?" My buddy has an anniversary coming up, and I'd like to give him a gift he'll remember always...

They're alive and well living in retirement homes! LOL.

Seriously, an ex-boyfriend of mine had parents who were swingers in the late 1960s and 70s. He actually caught his dad fucking one of his playmates one day at their house and it left quite an indelible impression on him!

But at the end, the wife ended up living in a polyamorous relationship with one of their long-time female playmates. So now I suppose everyone just thinks "isn't it nice that these two old ladies have each other's company?" and they'll never know what really brought these people together. LOL.
