How far do you travel for a club?
Do you drive past other clubs on the way to your preferred club?
If so why do you bypass the clubs closer to home? Is it your desire to be discrete, or do you have other reasons?

Hm, well, no other swinger club, but there's one strip club; we haven't been there yet and it doesn't interest us much.

If so why do you bypass the clubs closer to home? Is it your desire to be discrete, or do you have other reasons?

{That's "discreet", unless you are speaking as a mathematician.}

We find the usual "we have to be discreet" a bit odd and off-putting. The usual formulation is that anyone else that you see there whom you already know is there for the same reason you are...so what's the big deal? We go looking for friends, not trying to avoid finding/making them.

Seriously, is the problem "someone will know we swing"? Yes, and you will know they do, too.

Right now we go to a club that is 10 minutes away but we have gone to clubs over 2 hours, we will go to a club for a particular theme or to meet another couple. We look at it this way, if we see someone we know from school, work, church, etc.. what is the big deal they are there too and this just happened to us last week on the board, someone from our gym recognized us and we were shocked, then the following day we saw them in the gym and we made a new friend cause of it.

Our favorite club while we were in California was 2 hours away. There is a club 10 minutes from us, we've been there a few times, but we're still looking for a club to call our favorite here in Ohio. For us, it's not about distance, but if we like the place.

We don't go to the club closest to us (even if nothing else is going on that night) because we just don't care for that club (for many reasons).

The one on-premise club we go to is 2 hours away, we go there because we like the club, do we drive past other clubs on the way there? probably. There's one other one less than a mile away from it that we don't go to because again we don't like that particular club (for many reasons).

Our second closest club is the one we go to most frequently, but it's an off-premise social that is only held once a month. SO occasionally we will drive 2 hours away for either the on-premise club, or 2 hours south for other off-premise clubs. There is one other off-premise club within an hour to us but we don't go to it because we've found after several visits that it's waste of time, and they make it a bigger waste of time by canceling too many events at the last minute, leaving themselves with minimal turnout when they do bother to have an event.

The times we have gone to a club, it has been in Phoenix. That is about 160 miles from our home.

We usually just go to house parties within an hour of our home with friends we have made through a Yahoo group or meet others we have e-mailed with through one of the various swinger sites.

We do not pass any other clubs on our way because there ARE no other clubs between us and Phoenix.

I'll use time as that's what drives our choices. Anywhere from 35 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes.

While we don't drive "past" a club, there are clubs closer than our preferred ones.

If so why do you bypass the clubs closer to home? Is it your desire to be discrete, or do you have other reasons?

We're not concerned about closeness of events, heck our neighbors are in the lifestyle. We prefer the facilities and the people at the farther clubs.

Our home club is about 50 minutes from us via interstate highway.

We have attended other clubs that are roughly 2 hours from us.

We don't pass any clubs on our way to our home club, unless the local dairy cattle have a little somethin-somethin' going on. In that case, we wouldn't be interested.

Most of the "clubs" (i.e., houses which specifically host regular weekly / monthly events) are at least a half hour away from my place. There are a few groups which do hotel-parties & occassional house-parties more locally - but they're usually not regular events.

Maybe... there are a few which might be a little bit closer - but I'm not familiar with the host/hostesses or they're places I've not been to before. (Or they are clubs which specifically cater to people of a certain demographic that I'm not - i.e., a club for women seeking to play with black men only)

Two clubs are with 50 minutes travel time, one within 80 minutes. Finding a lifestyle person whom you know in other settings is almost inevitable. Why worry? The longer you go at it, the greater the probability. Well, what I should say is, after the first time it happens, you tend not to think about it any longer. Please disregard this advice if you are a national political figure, a high-profile fundamentalist clergyman or a movie star who does not want to appear in Midnight Magazine.

We drive a little over 2 hours away to go to our favorite club. We pass by another lifestyle club along the way, but never thought about going there. We are comfortable with the one we attend. They have lots more playrooms, and a bigger dancefloor and bar area. We do like to be discrete, but feel if someone we know outside the lifestyle is at the club...they must be there for the same reason. So that isn't a worry.

we are going to our first party in the phoenix area next week. not really a club, but since we don't know where those are yet, parties are close enough. we live 4 hours from anything remotely worth paying attention to (so far) so we have to travel.

We have two off premise clubs within 10 minutes drive, another about 20 minutes away. There are no on premise clubs near us, that we are aware of anyway. We have not yet ventured to the on premise clubs, but plan to.
