Default Traffic Light party

We have a local meet and greet that we're trying to come up with themes for. i just wanted to chew over an idea i had based on a party i had at uni.

the theme was a "traffic light" party. in the vanilla world, basically you come dressed in an item of colour(edit... i meant clothing), either red, orange (or yellow... whichever colour your middle traffic lights are) and green.

Red means - i am in an exclusive relationship, thanks but no thanks. or i'm not at a point in my life where i'm ready for intimacy

Orange - i am in an open relationship/i'm not looking, but if the right person comes along.../ i'm in a relationship but it's on the rocks... basically a "i'm not looking, but i'm open to the idea of a hookup

Green - set to go... a spark between us, and there'll be fireworks.

I had the idea of tweeking this to suit a meet and greet situation.

Red - i'm in a monogomous committed relationship, we're not looking at the moment (ideal for people that want to see what the lifestyle is about, members of couples that haven't got their partner there and only play together, or for the odd (and i mean this as infrequent, not "unusual lol) single/couple that is socially involved in the swinging scene but doesn't play).

Orange - we're not really looking, but if Mr and Mrs Pitt swept us off our feet, we'd consider it. category for the Newbs who are dunking their toes in the water for the first time, those that are looking for extremely specific things (like a single female to dress up in a chicken suit and tickle them with feathers while they make love). or for soft swap couples.

Green - we're hardened swingers. a good conversation, a mutual attraction, and we very well may be swapping more than phone numbers... my Wife is a mynx, and i love to share her, etc...

this is just a rough of my idea. if anyone can suggest other tweaks to the categories, or the idea itself, go right ahead... of course No means No - just because your in green doesn't mean that he/she'll do anyone with a heartbeat and the right plumbing,.

The group that the meet and greet attracts is pretty diverse (it's basically a catch up event for the local swing dating site). i was thinking the idea may attract a few more people, because those in red have less of a risk that they're going to have to turn people down (because it's obvious they don't play) and those in green know that if their chatting to someone in red, there likely to get a "no" if they ask.

now i know that we don't all have sexy orange clothes. normally at the M & G we have nametags, so could incorporate the colour into them, or wristbands, or something non-clothing.

and finally, would you guys attend a M & G themed like this?

Too bad your in Australia, I'd think the Mrs and I would enjoy attending a party like this. I'm sure we could both find something red to wear...

I'd say it sounds like a good idea, and people could always pack a change if they decide to go from red to yellow / orange that night.

My first thoughts for conversion when I read the original idea would be this...

Red - We are not interested in single men
Orange - We are just looking for an extra female for f/f play
Green - we are here to party, by all means approach us!

The only problem I see is those who don't dress the part - or who accidentally wear the wrong color (because they didn't plan).

I've seen posts about parties where they used other color coded things to distinguish people's interests... colored straws or the colored rubber band bracelets. Those give you a lot more options than just the 3 that stop lights give you.

Cool, this is the sort of feedback i'm looking for. i should have probably said that these M&G's have very few single males attend (kind of a "bring a friend") situation, where the couples know there responsible for the "friends" behaviour, so an over abundance of single men isn't a problem at them. more geared towards couples meeting couples.

my idea of wristbands/nametag colour should help stop people with a perchant for green getting too much attention

i'll have a look for the bracelet/colour posts after work

Cheers

My one worry would be that the folks in red would get ignored.... which is why I'd probably lean the colors towards interest... maybe red for f/f swap only, orange for soft swap/newbies and then green for full swap?

I agree that this would be a fun idea, but you'd have to make sure everyone was fully aware of the 'dress code'... also, because it's a swingers party, what do you do AFTER the clothing is removed?

I personally would do either wristbands or something similar. That way you could catch people at the door as the host and go over the color designation with them to make sure there were no mistakes.

Cheers!

JustMrJ, clothing stays on at these M&G's... part of the conditions of using the premises unfortunately but yes, wristbands/id tags are probably a better idea (everyone needs to sign in, so rules will be gone over then)

Whatevr you decide to do it sounds like a great idea for a swing or sex party, so long as couples get to mingle regardless of the color they choose and play with someone else's wife or hubby and fuck him or her to great orgasm!

I think the idea sounds like so much fun! and good because you know going into the situation what the other is into. very helpful!

I attended a similar party in Germany. At the door, everyone picked out a Hawaiian Lei of their color of choice. Once, the clothing was removed, everyone still had the lei's. And sorry I won't be able to attend the party, sounds life fun. I'm in the Army, so I'm already wearing Green.
