What clothes do you like to see at clubs?

So we went to our first on-premise club Saturday and while we had a great time, we were amazed at the variety of clothes people were wearing. We got into a discussion about what outfits are the sexiest and so we thought we'd post a poll.

For the record, Mr. Ivory like women who wear sexy dresses with some skin, but not showing everything. Mrs. Ivory likes her men wearing casual (jeans, button down shirt) but well fitting--why doesn't the oversized trend just die already?!

I responded to the men.......Jeans and a button down polo...think that was the choice.

I think personally its much sexier. Unless its a "formal" event I much rather see a guy in a good pair of fitted jeans!

Actually, that was 1 of the deciding factors on where to go NYE for us.
Hubby is a better dresser as far as formal...He is as comfortable in a suit as he is in jeans but personally I am not.
Now, I will wear the little slinky dresses however "after 5 formal required" isnt something I could be totally comfortable in. Probably could for a couple hours but not for an extended night out.

I like women who look like they enjoy being women and dress the part. It doesn't have to be short or skimpy, (although I won't complain!) but I like to see women in skirts, hose, ankle bracelets & heels! And she can wear something on the top half of her body, too...

Given the choice between a nicely-dressed, but "ordinary" woman and a supermodel in jeans, and I'll look at the nicely-dressed lady all night long!

The post should have been multiple choice. But I like business casual with fewer clothes as the night progresses. You don't want to dress too casual, but the party girl/hooker look (IMHO) isn't very attractive. Bottom line, you should dress in a manner which shows the way that you want to be approached. So, if you're looking for someone who's ready to fuck at that very moment, go ahead and put on a mesh shirt and leather mini. If you're the type of person who wants a little bit of back ground information about your partner for the night, sporty casual works, and it can be quickly altered (unbutton your shirt, let the jeans lower enough to show off some butt, etc.) as you begin to feel more comfortable with your partners.

I said show us that skin, ladies. Leave something to the imagination, but not much! I love to look at women - I just love it. And the more you're willing to display, the more I'll look.

This is exactly why I absolutely love spring - it's my favorite time of the year. People have been bundled up against the cold of winter for so long, the shorts, short skirts, sundresses, and tank tops come out, and I'm in heaven.

Something I've always wondered though - don't mothers inform their daughters that in certain lighting conditions, white pants/shorts/skirts become almost transparent? Not that I'm complaining, you understand - I'm all for it. But be warned that sometimes we can tell that 'the carpet doesn't match the drapes,' if you get my drift...

I would never feel like hitting on a guy who dress to impress as you Americans seem to prefer (trousers and collar/button shirt) even less so if he has a wife on his site who showes a lot of skin

I agree! Okay, I've only been to one party, so I shouldn't judge until I've been to more, but I was sad that the men were so covered up! Most of the women were wearing next to nothing and the men all had long sleeved shirts and jeans on. And the jeans were baggy!

Men may be MORE visual than women, but some women like to look too! Honestly, if a man is completely covered up and his wife is wearing a tiny skirt and tube top, he looks more like her pimp than her partner.

As a man, I have also noticed that the guys tend to get dressed right away after playing or being in the hot tub. So I am not over the top if when I get out of the hot tub that I just wrap a towel around my waist for the rest of the evening?

To be honest, I've never really thought about how I dress. Ok, maybe a little - I mean, I don't dress like a slob or anything - I go casual. I'll wear a pair of nice jeans (blue or black - not baggy, but not painted on either) and a golf shirt. I prefer a golf shirt to anything I have to tuck into my pants, only because that way I don't have to keep tucking the shirt in.

One time I went all out and wore my kilt to a local on-premise club, figuring that it would at least be an ice breaker. Boy was I wrong! NOT ONE person said a word to me about it. Man was I disappointed. I figured that with all of the "what's under the kilt" questions I'm asked any other time I wear it, I'd have my hands full - or the ladies would - either way.... Nope - not one person even approached me.

What say you, ladies? Would you rather see a nice pair of properly fitting jeans, or maybe some dress slacks, khakis, or maybe something else completely? Keep in mind that it's winter now...

That is really strange...Ted has worn his kilt numerous times and the man stays busier than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest, having to prove what's under his kilt. The other men usually come up to him all night saying how much they hate him for wearing the kilt

I have to say that I like men's club wear- the nice khakis or dark pants, a casual buttoned shirt, open at the neck, preferably with a soft texture (the Mr got a new one from me for xmas), and good shoes. Nothing turns me off faster than running shoes. Took me about 3 months to drill that into the Mr's head, but now he knows- sneakers are for exercise, not playtime.

The kilt can be the ice breaker but the personality seals the deal. And I believe I have seen Ted in his and he can seal a deal with his personality.

On dressing at a club here's a pet peeve of mine. The other night I saw two beautiful women dressed very hot!!! And the guy with them was dressed like a bum! Well maybe not a bum, but comparatively speaking... and it was New Year's Eve. Formal attire expected but not required. But, he was bouncing around like he was on something anyways....

For me, the garments matter little. Any woman who wears a smile is perfectly dressed.
