Key Parties

We have heard about the legendary key parties (in which husbands draw housekeys from a bowl and go home with that woman for the night), but wonder if that scenario is fact or fiction.
It has been portrayed in movies (THE ICE STORM) and on television (an old episode of the lawyer show JUDD FOR THE DEFENSE featured such a storyline; made a deep impression on me as a teen). Does this still go on? Did it ever? Or was it just a media concoction?

Key parties did exsist at one time. Not since the early 60's have they been a practice within the swing community.

they only time I have heard of this was when a friend pulled a very bad practical joke on a newbie couple by telling them the house party he was bringing them to operated in this manner.

Your first "encounter" HAD to be with the person who drew your key but you were allowed to choose for any subsequent engagements that evening

of course we all had a good laugh when he told the story - but I would guess they didn't think it was very funny.

Before we emigrated from England to North America 30 years ago we attended a few key parties with good friends. The parties were a lot of fun. We did not think of ourselves as swingers at that time, just a group of friends who liked a little sexual variety in their lives. Of course there was no group sex or anything like that. We just paired off at the end of the party, went home and had sex with someone other than our spouse. It all helped to spice up our own sex life a lot. When we came over here we spent several years in our own company as it were, falling into something of a rut. Then we took up swinging and the rest is history!

Another movie that featured a "Key Party" was The Grinch with Jim Carrey.

The wife and I were watching the show with our littlest son when we spied several scenes that caused our jaw's to drop...

Pay attention to the part of the movie when Little Susie asked the old lady where the Grinch came from. As the babies are dropping from the sky one Dad picked his baby up and mentioned to his wife that he looked a lot like her boss!

Then when the grinch's basket gets stuck in the tree he looks in on a key party taking place in one of the Who's homes.

Too Funny... Maybe we should make another discussion that has references to swinging in movies and televison shows.

It's already been done (well TV & Movies actually).

Regarding Key Parties, I think they go back to when swinging was more of a "wife swapping" patriarchal thing. Swinging has become much more of a couples thing that they actually do together rather than a "hey wanna swap wives for the night" type thing.

We belonged to a country club where we had about 6 to 8 coulpes of us did that every week on Fri night after golf and dinner.The wifes would wait in there car and the men would throw the car keys in something and draw them out and jump in the car they belonged to with the wife already in the car.Some times you got a blow job on the way home. My parents who were very conservative had this happen to them when at the country club. They were shocked beyong belief and quit that night! I guess it's just not for everyone!!!

Wow...hadn't heard about key parties in awhile!

I remember reading somewhere they originated in the Air Force.
Sweet thought actually...this sort of party also implied a bonding of sorts...that the pilots would assume responsibility and take care of each other's wives if the something gawd awful might happen to them while on duty. Another reason to love our men in uniform.

But I think with the "no means no" golden rule that a key party would be totally unethical in swinging circles these days.

I suppose it might make a great party game with grrl play in mind ....best in a small circle where everyone is already into each other and there would be no question about consensuality.

Hmmm..something to give some thought to!

A fun game that would make. hee...hee...

Well...

It goes against virtually every rule we have as a couple, but I have to say, that sounds really hot...

Of course, knowing the "Spoomonkey Luck", I'd pull out the keys to the Yugo with the tricky clutch, have to drive to the house that is currently being painted so everything has to be done on a plastic tarp, and have the pleasurable company of a woman on her period who happens to fart during sex...

On the other hand, Mrs Spoomonkey would get a chance to show off my humble - but growing - art collection...

Okay - any man who would waste an evening with Mrs Spoomonkey looking at my sad little art collection has issues that go beyond his Yugo's tricky clutch...

Yes - I am hung...

Well - at least my paintings are...

I had a painting done for Mrs Spoomonkey as a gift right before we were married and that got us involved with some local artists here in Columbus. Now we are hooked... Slightly cheaper than drugs - and the high lasts longer...

Of course - when I meet a REAL art collector, I just shut my mouth and hope he doesn't laugh at me...
