This thread focuses on costume theme nights, but what about theme nights that don't focus on costumes? They can be great and our club is always coming up with some that we like. Examples are no-smoking night, or a particular music theme night, or a birthday theme where you get a discount on your fee if your birthday is that month. LM |

I'm going to be going to a club this weekend with a theme. I've been there twice before several years ago but I don't recall they had anything special going on. I'm so excited because the theme happens to be the same as the costumes I made for Halloween last year and even though my dress when to the floor I think I was sexy as hell. I was specifically looking to see people generally dressed in the themes and was disappointed to see that themes don't go over as well as I hoped. At first I thought I don't want to stick out like a sore thumb (hence looking for a thread like this) but with more thinking it's part of my personality to dress up and just have fun with it. Unlike halloween I'll be putting more energy into what's UNDER my costume |

Now I happen to like theme nights, and have had a lot of fun with them. The first time at our favorite Meet & Greet, the theme was Jersey (as in football team) Night. This was perfect for us, since we're big STEELERS fans. Not only did we find it extremely easy to pick our outfits, but it made approaching others and introducing ourselves SO much easier! That said, I think theme nights should be spaced out so that you don't run out of ideas, and those who don't wish to participate aren't feeling left out all the time. =) |

I'm sad to report I didn't end up dressing up in my costume We spent a lot of time getting them together yesterday but we weren't in a position to dress in them until we got to the club. This was my husband's very first club and first swinging experience (excluding MFM) and he got so nervous when he first got there that he just didn't want to put his costume on. I wanted him to feel comfortable so I didn't press the issue even though I was a little bummed on the inside. In the end it wasn't important in the grand scheme of things, we had an awesome time all dressed up in regular dressy clothes and the night was absolutely perfect. The next time we go we're going to give it another shot in dressing up for the theme.

It depends on the theme for me. I enjoy "men's shirt night" - had a blast at the Rocky Horror Picture Show night.... But "Itty Bitty Bikini Night" this weekend .... No, not ready for that one. Then it's bikers and babes, and I have nothing that would fit the theme, nor do I want to shell out any cash for it right now. Our club does typically have some type of theme almost every weekend. I have noticed about 10% participation the nights we have gone. Mrs. NC |

My hubby won't do the themes either (except Halloween) but he doesn't mind the fact that I try to dress for them whenever I can. Unless my trying to dress for them causes stress because I can't find anything to wear. This weekends theme is "Some Like it Hot". Our new club likes to do old movie themes, it seems. Next month is 91/2 weeks. For these types of themes I find it easiest to just dress sexy, although I am considering wearing one of his shirts and finding a hat for next month.

9 1/2 weeks, that's a neat idea for a theme, be sure to have some fake money to throw on the floor.

I like the idea!! It gives the night/club/party a sense of togetherness before you even get there! And sometimes we'll join in and sometimes not! As long as the theme isn't mandatory.... I think it's great! You'd be surprised at what you can find in a pinch too! Using your imagination can be fun when trying to get an outfit together! |

I've got a friend who hosts a monthly hotel-party and she's constantly doing "themes" ... I think they're a lot of fun and it gives people an instant "ice-breaker" to dress up or come up with creative ways to add to the night's experience. We had a casino-night/-slave auction party once... people could play cards or trade chips throughout the early part of the evening to collect as many chips as they could (for example, asking a person to get you a drink might be worth tipping them a chip ... getting a blowjob from that person might be worth a few more than that) ... the host would ask people as they entered if they'd like to volunteer to be "auctioned" later on. Then at midnight... the host played auctioneer and people would bid for those and keep 'em the rest of the night 'til the party broke up (about 2 or 3am) |

We run a club and we find theme nights to be 50/50 most of the time so the way we see is to each his or her own if you wanna dress up for the them then by all means. Its gives ppl something to do our makes them use their creativity. You all have valid points but its really up to the customer regardless
