I like some of the theme nights. Black and White Night and Lingerie Night and Leather/Vinyl Night once or twice a year is easy, as is Valentine's Day, Mardi Gras and Halloween. However, School Girl Night once a month got a bit tiresome, and I didn't see that many participate when I was going to the club regularly.

I've noticed that our club had been reducing fees if you come in theme by $10 for couples. I haven't been to the club in a while to see if participation has improved.

I have seen some clubs that provide a discount if you come dressed for theme. I think this is a good balance. I'd hate to see them turn people away for not dressing to theme.

Oh but so many great choices! Chris... you should totally dress up as a cop.

Once a month is too often for any theme to repeat. Great if you typically have mostly tourists, but sucky if you are a regular.

I've never been gung ho on theme nights, which at our club is nearly an every weekend event. As others have said, many people don't dress for them (we rarely do) so I don't think they care too much for them either. And turning people away from a club because they aren't dressed for the theme would be a disaster for clubs! It would probably reduce income by at least 50%.

What I get out of theme nights is looking at what other people choose to wear. It can be hilarious; some people do themselves up well, others don't look too good because of their costume.

I think clubs continue with themes because it's the best way to make it seem like the club is always providing something different and is everchanging. Think about it. How would it look if they posted an announcement each week that said the same thing, "Come on out to our club this weekend!" They have to entince people some way and themes do seem to tickle people and draw them in, even if most people don't dress for them.

Well, I know a club that turns people away if they don't fit the theme. And it does the club good.
I guess if you know that the majority of people will be in silly dresses it makes things for you easier to also be seen in a silly attire

2 for 2. You're on a roll there!

When we first started clubbing, we dressed for every theme night, and spent more money than we should have for the outfits.
After a while, the novelty wore off, and we slowed down on the theme night participation.

We usually try to do it up good for Halloween, and any other event that's "easy" to dress for. Beach/Luau night is always a winner.

Oh BTW, if anyone needs a Velvet Pimp Daddy outfit, I can sell you one.

We LOVE theme nights To us, it's always fun. When we went to Hedo, we spent probably way too much time coming up with just the right costume for the theme nights they had...we enjoy shopping and putting together our own unique costumes for whatever theme...of course, we always match I guess we never grew up enough not to enjoy "dress up" play

Yeah TNT, You guys sound like true party animals. I guess we never grew out of dressing up either. We like to party and have fun. We don't go out looking for sex partners unless we are both in the mood for extra activities, so there is no distraction when parting at theme parties. I must admit though, I've had better success at theme parties finding sex partners than just a regular night. Talking about your costumes are good ice breakers and a great way to make someone's fantasy come true. Like one of mines is to fuck the hell out of Captain Jack Sparrow, which I will be doing this halloween. ,

I suspect a lot of how into theme nights one is might have a lot to do with how often one has an opportunity to go to a theme night party. Here in our area we have three on-premise clubs and several regular house parties. Most weekends, at least one of them and usually more is having a theme night. If you are like us and go to a club at least one night on most weekends, theme parties get old fast. Even if we were into it, we couldn't possibly do all of them unless we had a separate facility beside our house to store all of our costumes.

This coming weekend two of the clubs are having theme parties. One is having a fetish party, and the other is having a wild, wild, west party. We will probably be going to the later, but we won't be dressing for the theme.

We also over-do the Hedo theme nights, and we fill-in the rest of the week with our own Group Theme Nights... we had 5 couples do the Village people (the guys) and the Spice Rack Girls, and some of the guys do a Drag Queen night... We go to a nude resort with 4 suitcases FULL of stuff, go figure??

We try to be You would love Ted's pirate costume...while at Hedo and dressed for their pirate night, there were a couple of really cute young ladies that came up to Ted to tell him that when they first saw him, they thought he was Johnny Depp He did look good that night

I agree...we don't have any regular clubs that we can go to every weekend, if we did and it was an every weekend thing that it was a theme night, we too might get bored and tired of it.

One secret to having a lot of costumes is that when designing and putting them together, if you make sure that you can mix and match items from different costumes to make another one, you save on storage space...we have enough different costumes that regardless of the theme, we're pretty well set up for anything and they only take up a small space in the closet.
