Our house parties usually had 10 couples and two large play rooms. The thing we like about house party is that our guests are all seasoned swingers whom love to play and we aren't regulated to playing games and dancing all night. We remodeled our place and haven't thrown a party in a year and after the urging of our friends are currently planning a party at a local on premise club. We have a ton of friends who are rsvp'n and we're getting a bit overwhelmed. The club normally has 18 small room type play areas that normally fit 2 or 3 couples. How can we make it have a house party swinging f To make for larger play areas, we're hanging sheer curtains around the dancefloor and placing beds there. We've also turned another area into a large dungeon room. One of the cool things about our home is that one of the rooms had a projector with wall to wall porn playing on it. We think we're crosing our ts but theres still that dread feeling of overwhelming. We're expecting 30 couples. What type of appetizers should we serve? We like to normally put out a couple of fruit plates but that may not be enough. We sometimes play games but that doesnot seem like it will work on a large scale? When we normally go to this club the dance floor is one of the perks, are we doing the right thing by eliminating it for a larger play space. What else can we do to make it more homey |

I have a couple of questions.... Have you rented this club for a "private" party? Are the guest only going to be those that you have invited or will there be other people there? Teresa

Keep it simple. People who want to play will play. Dance or whatever. I wouldn't try changing the "atmosphere" much even though you want a house party atmosphere. Appetizers? Pot luck. Especially if a private party? Will there be a cover at the door? BYOB?

And don't forget the smoking area.... I think pot luck is a near perfect solution although I usually only nibble on the fruit and chocolates myself.

I'd have at least sodas and mixers available if it's BYOB. Do you have an area available for people to chit chat and meet/get to know each other? Overall, sounds like it'll be a great party! Have fun! =)

The club closed to expulge a bad element. - All the guests are invite only. All couples we've played with before and that enjoy playing. - The club's design is that there's a main sitting/conversation area surrounding the dancefloor. We plan on putting up sheer drapes around the dance floor/orgy area as a seperation between the sitting area and the larger play area - appetizers- we're not really sure right now. We've settled on serving little angel food cake bites with various sweet sauces they can pour over it. At our parties we only have fresh fruit, so we're alittle up in the air trying to find a light food we can make for it. |

The one thing I would suggest is to close off some of the small private areas. You said there are 18 that fit 2-3 couples so that's way more than you need along with the big orgy area. I would probably leave maybe 10 rooms open (at most) for those who want private play. The atmosphere you are wanting tho lends to more large public play areas and fewer small private areas. One key to any party is not having too much room and keeping the party looking "full". Also, is there a room at the club that you can set up your projector in? Maybe do that in the social area around the dancefloor that you are turning into the orgy area?

Throw in a chocolate fountain and someone that knows how to restock it - no one will be disappointed in the refreshments. You could get a couple small fountains and have both dark and milk chocolate. If the dance floor was a big perk in the past, keep the plans flexible so that if some folks wanted to dance, the beds could be pushed together or something to make room. Maybe DIY disk jockey. All complex plans need room for adjustment during implementation. It sounds like you guys are thoughtful hosts and you're probably worrying over this much more than necessary. Relax, the fun is more in the participants than in the accommodations.

The dance floor was one of the down things about the parties in the past and was a reason for the bad element. It got to a point where a lot of non-swapping lifestylers would come, do lots of hustles, wait for the swappers to start and then gawk, ooh and ah. I'm hoping that is not too missed. But like you said, i'm sure that's something we could adjust on the fly if we wanted

Sounds like a cool place. Along with the other great suggestions so far.... Food: Veggie trays are great, the fruit tray is great, chocolate fountain fun, finger sandwiches are a good choice. We have a friend that when he gives his house parties, he goes to Chick-filet and gets one of their large trays of chicken nuggets...that always goes over real well, there's never any left at the end of the night. I like boiled shrimp with cocktail sauce and trays of these are easily found. Good luck and have fun! Teresa

You want it appettizing and small bites normally. Keeps the hands clean and the breath!! Doesn't make a big, sticky, messy clean up later. And when using the chocolate fountain make sure the chocolate is melted very well prior to putting in the fountain. I've burned up a fountain before by not having it well melted. Or follow the directions about melting.

It's like beernuts at a bar... I don't want to think about who's fingers have been in there, or where those fingers may have been. |

So I notice things, and most of the folks at the parties we've been to use better manners than what I've seen at other functions like company holiday parties. Besides, with all the spit swapping going on, everything kind of evens out. One thing I've noticed that still bothers me is the little nibbles skewered on toothpicks. There's never a suitable recepticle for the used picks and they get dropped on the table. That can be an issue at the chocolate fountain too.
