If you're looking for an excuse for why you've got a pole in your house, just explain you're using it for exercise. There's a woman out there who specifically promotes stripping and pole dancing for the exercise value - some thing she calls The S Factor. She even includes instruction on striptease and pole work in book and video form. A long time ago (when there was a fair bit less of me) I worked in a bikini bar and I can guarantee from personal experience that both are great exercise and lots of fun - especially with an audience to cheer you on! Not to be egotistical or anything, but I thought I looked pretty good before I started dancing, then afterwards....wow! It was one heck of a great workout! I actually lost enough that one day I was walking along and stepped right out of my fanny pack. I'd lost so many inches (not weight - inches), that even on the smallest adjustment, it wouldn't stay up on my hips. It slid all the way down and almost tripped me! Hmmmm.....maybe I should go back to dancing again - though a bit more privately this time. I suspect Wash would approve wholeheartedly! Z |

Unfortunately I dont live near Toronto..nor near SanDiego or LA where Sheila Kelley has her own studios. The SFactor is the last link I listed and it's a great series of videos...much more than just pole dancing too. I'd just like to find someone to offer classes I can benefit from in person here in the midwest! I've been approached about a home pole dancing business, which I'm not going to do, but they are offereing "pole dance" parties for women. That's about the closest they come to anything around here! In the mean time, you're right...the dancing is a great workout. However, we tried the exercise excuse and no one in my family bought it! LOL |

| I agree,,,this is a great idea. I didn't even know about pole dancing outside of strip clubs until watching a episode of King of Queens where he tried to get his wife involved.
