| Active Member | We are planning on visiting Hedonism this summer. Whats best Hedo II or III? What happened to Hedo I? We'd like to have some major fun, is swinging/swapping good or rare at the resorts? Or should we plan on a period when a Swingers group will be there? |

When Superclubs leased Negril Beach Village from the Jamaican Government in 1981, they wanted to change the name to emphasize the new management. The brochure of Negril Beach Village had the word Hedonism on it. So the decision was made to name the resort Hedonism II. The decision of Hedo II or III really depends on your personal tastes. If the room is most important thing to you, choose HIII, it is newer and the rooms are much nicer. If the beach is the most important, choose HII, the beach at HIII is a very small manmade beach, HII is much nicer (though not anywhere near as nice a 7 mile beach in Negril). We have been to both and prefer HII, though a lot of that is because we went there first and that's where our friends go. However, another couple we know (who also occasionally post on this board) prefer HIII. Really, you need to experience both (seperate weeks - don't split a week, no enough time to really get a feel for the resort) and make your own decison about which you prefer. While age is not an issue at either resort, most people observe that the average age of HIII visitors is younger than HII. While there a significant number of 30-40 year olds at either resort. There are more 20-30 year olds at HIII, while you see more 40 - 55 year olds at HII. This is not to say that either group is absent at the other resort, just that the numbers are definitely different at the 2 resorts. If you are planning a summer trip, I would strongly recommend going the July 4th week at HII. That is a week heavily promoted by Lifestyles Tours and Travel so a very high percentage are into the lifestyle. In addition, the people that go that week (and would estimate that 30-40% - possibly higher - of the people repeat that week year after year). You will always find people involved in the lifestyle at either HII, we just find the level of fun (not limited to sexual fun) is much higher on weeks promoted by Lifestyles. They went with a group from Swappernet. While they really enjoyed themselves and said the resort was great, they were surprised that the leader of the group catered to a select smaller group. My friend made a point of taking outfits and participating in the various theme parties (doctor & nurse night, naughty school girl, toga, etc...) she said they were not asked to be in the group pictures and felt a little left out. She said the smaller group only swung among themselves also. While my friends have been members of swappernet for some time, they said they would really like to go down to Hedonism II with other friends next time to enjoy themselves more. Does this exclusion happen often when going to Hedonism as part of a group? |

Female | We've been to both resorts and being in our mid 40's- early 50s have always felt there was a pretty even split among the ages at both. Most times traveling with a group means you will fit in quicker and easier, and have a great time. It helps to break the ice by meeting people in advance online like most of the groups do. The main difference between the two resorts is the layout. H 3 is smaller and more compact, while H2 is larger and spread out. Rooms are nicer at H3, but not much time is spent in your rooms...you're there to party and meet people right? There is obviously a larger crowd at H2 which may seem wilder because of the size, and of course, there are more chances of meeting compatible people. H3 on the other hand, being smaller, is more intimate and seems to be easier to meet and talk to people because of that. My advice is to find a group going during the time you are available to travel and go to whichever resort they are going to. |
