Help- She'll never go back!

So, after lots of discussion, we decided to give our local swing club a try. Unfortuneatley, we live in LA, so that was LA couples. An industrial-strengh icky joint, with few people there, and a very unerotic environment for initiation. She hated it. I think she would be willing to give someplace another try- maybe a nice lounge environment with fancy drinks and relaxing music- and slow dancing. Something that minimizes the sleazy aspects of what we are doing as much as possible. Any suggestions?

I have to agree with your wife. I would be disgusted too. The club that we attend has a nice inviting atmosphere and is why I am willing to go back. The only sugesstion that I have is to do your homework and find a place that would suite your wife's needs. Good Luck

The second club we ever went to was a disgusting dive.

It was smelly, damp, dark and the single men were very aggressive and obviously had no idea how to act to women. My wife felt unsafe, I felt unclean and when it was all over, we were just glad to be heading home...

Had that been our first club experience, we'd be right there with your wife...

Luckily - we had already gone to the club that we now call home. It was a little smoky, but other than that, friendly, comfortable, fun and full of nice couples and mostly respectable single gentlemen.

She is right to be disgusted.

Let her read this thread. Maybe she'll realize that, yes the bad ones exist - but so do the good ones.

We've been to Freddom Acres a few times and like that place. It is a bit of a drive for us. We were thinking of trying some places closer to home and LA Couples was one we were thinking about.... maybe you could tell us more about what turned you off. Could it be you were there on an "off night"? It does happen we're told.

The club that we have been to in our area is pretty nice. Good mixture of music, clean club and friendly people. We have considered trying other clubs but just haven't yet.

I agree that you should do a bit of research before trying another club out. Perhaps after explaining your situation, a club owner would allow you to take a peek in the club to see if it is a place that you and your wife would enjoy.

Another idea is to take a look at the club postings here (and on the club websites although I would take these with a grain of salt) and read the reviews. Or if you are a member of a swingers board, look for ads that state that the folks in your area like to go to clubs and email them asking about clubs they like best.

I am sure that you will find the right club for both of you.

I hope so. She was so creeped out by the whole thing I don't know if she will go again.

Things that bothered her were-

Very few people, (30 for 20,000 sqft)

Very "unsentual"

Loud, aggressive hip-hop.

Homely gents.

Really cold (temp).

Personally, I felt like we were on a hollywood porn set- and we were! That's were they film those things. The place may be ok for most, but not for my descriminating and high-class wife. Not for her first time anyway.
