Questions about clubs

Hi everyone, we're new here, just joined today. I'm the wife and I have a feeling that I'll be the one doing most of the posting. <g> (What can I say, I'm the talker in our marriage <g>)

Anyway, I could use some advice. The hubby and I have been talking about the fantasy of swinging for 10 years. We've finally gotten to the realization we would be taking nothing away from our relationship and adding a lot to it.

Now then, we've found a swingclub nearby and have made a reservation to go next Saturday. Have any of you ever been to a swing club? Have you had positive experiences with them? Do you have any advice for this first experience for us? And finaly...I've had two cessarian births, I am not some hot-bodied perfect Paris Hilton beauty, I'm short, a little overweight, but not a total dog either...please someone tell me that I don't have to be perfect or look perfect to participate in this experience! That's really my only BIG insecurity...

You just described 90% of the people you will find in a swingers club. At least from our experiences.

If that is your only insecurity it will be relieved as soon as you walk in the door!!

As has been said around here often: to get a feel for what the people there will be like, go to your local mall and look at every person that passes for the next 10 minutes. That's a sampling of what the people will look like at the club. All shapes, weights, sizes and beauty levels.

Frist Howdy from Texas. Second a short female that is slightly overweight will always get a second glance from me always. So dont sweat your weight, unless you working out. There are all types looking for all kinds of differnet things. My wife and I are on the more of the anti Ken and Barbie bodies and we are trying to find other couples. We are also already exchanging emails with one couple. And if someone is rude to you about your body just sic your hubby on them <EG> . I expect people to not want to swing with us over our weight but hopefully they will be respectfull enough to just say they are not interested. sooo take your shoes off sit back a spell and read / post / ask questions to your little hearts content.

We've been to one off-premise club. I'd suggest you need only give your first names (no one we met gave their last names) unless after spending time getting to know someone you decide to contact each other outside the club.

Continue to move around and meet lots of people - don't sit down for any length of time, if at all.

Smile. You are much more approachable with a smile on your face.

Don't drink too much.

Observe. You'll learn a lot that way. Consider this first outing as a time to feel the place out.

Dance. Have a good time with your spouse. Don't feel you have to meet someone to play with on your first night out. Enjoy your time together.

We have had very positive experiences in On-Premise Clubs. As stated above they are a real American demographic. Don't be shy, don't get loaded, smile a lot, and you will have a great time. Sexy is all in the head, be confident.

Dito fun_pairTX!! I could not agree more, sexy is all in the head and people respond to that. I don't have a barbie body either and have had a baby myself. I have learned to accentuate my better features; for example I am tall so guys tend to like my long legs, bring on the mini skirts . I have never been to a club so I cannot comment on that and would love to hear how it goes for you.

Wow everyone has been soooo great! Thanks for all the great advice and calming words to put my fears to rest. I figured that was pretty much what I was in for and that not everyone would be 'perfect', but hey, you just don't know unless you ask, right?

As suggested, I'm gonna read around, get to know some of you a bit, and enjoy myself! I will definately let you all know how things go this coming Saturday!!!

I think you definately came to the right place for advice, these people are awesome. I too posted a similar thread about the same insecurity. I think it is awesome that you have made your plans despite them. I have had three c-secs and one natural birth, I am very vertically challanged, and have about 5-7 pounds more than I want. I am still working on my insecurities to go to a club, I have found one I want to go to, but haven't taken the step yet. I like the advice I got from the board, to just go to the club and have a good time without any expectations. I was also told not to let anyone pressure us, move at our own pace. So have a great time on Saturday.

Oh! You make me sick! 3 c-secs and one natural and you have 5-7 extra pounds! Sweetie, I'm talkin' 35-40 extra pounds! hee-hee (Both of my pregnancies almost killed me and I had bed rest; translated that means I gained a lot of freakin' weight! lol) But I'm figuring you can be one of my sisters in the ever growing StretchMark-Sisterhood! lol Thanks for sharing with me, and giving me a good laugh, even if it was at myself!

Rest assured, you will do just fine at the club...
There are all types of different people and they all come in different shapes and sizes.Attraction starts in your mind....if you feel sexy and confident...you will radiate that and people will be so attracted to you...Don't worry about any of the "flaws" you may think you have...to someone else, those "flaws" may be what makes you so attractive to them!
As for being short...I'm about 5'3"....{which is considered short, who knew?I feel taller }...just wear heels, girlfriend!Who doesn't love heels??!!
