Sneaking out of the house

Well last night MrsVan and I went to the club. This was the first time that we have been to any of our clubs during the week and also the first time we have had to deal with getting out of the house with our kids still around. Normally we only go out when we don't have the children at all. My son decided to watch the younger girls for us so we too the opportunity to head out.

We felt worse then teenagers though. MrsVan had to pack all her outfit into a bad and walk out of the house in jeans and a sweatshirt. My son had a friend over for the night and we didn't think it would go over well with any of the kids to see her walking out with 3 inch heel boots that went upto her knees along with a Black Leather mini-skirt.

Then I thought my son was going to say something to me about us going out..but yet we were taking our own alochol.

All in all it was a very weird experience getting out of the house...but we did have a good time.

Anyone else have to do this with your kids?

MrVan left out the fact that in order for me to change into my outfit, I had to do so in the car on the way to the club and then change back into my jeans and sweatshirt on the way back home in case the boys were still up.

I felt like a teenager who was sneaking out of the house with something that they should not be wearing in hopes that the parents did not see it. (But obviously my parents would not approve of the outfit )

If it's any help,we too left the kids at home and went out tonight.It wasn't to a club or play meet,but it still felt a little odd.Possibly because our 15yr old laughed at us for our chioce of movies to see.

By the way,Happy Feet is an awsome flick.

Since we don't have any on-premise clubs in Utah we just go out looking like we would to go to any nightclub. The kids don't have to know what kind of nightclub it is.

However, since we do tend to become friends with those we swing with we do have to explain sometimes how we have so many new friends.

The only close-call we've have recently was our 15-year old was doing the laundry while she was out of school on break and I noticed she had folded a T-shirt I had worn to a party the prior weekend. On it it has the international symbols for men and women, the stick figures and the words Good, Better, Best underneath them. The first is a woman, the second is two women, and the third is a FMF. She hasn't said anything.

Yes, she's the one of them who knows what we get up to. Otherwise she makes no comments about it at all.

It usually depends on what I'm wearing if we have to "sneak out" or not.

During the winter it's not hard at all. If I happen to wear something that is a bit much for a regular nightclub, I have a wonderful long cape/wrap that I'll put on before leaving the bedroom.

The summer months are harder and yes, there have been times that I've had to stuff my dress of choice for the night in my purse and leave the house in something a bit more conservative, then change in the car on the way.

It's kind of fun but I do look forward to the day I don't have to worry about it anymore.

I am sitting here laughing my head off!! i can just imagine you doing all that in the car!!! i bet that was a sight for sore eyes and my imagination is running wild............................... Brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!

Never had to do a sneak out(not yet) the kids just ask if were off to the pensioner club again..... we get changed at the Club!!!

We met a couple a few months ago and didn't get home until 2 in the morning ... I had on a cleavage shirt and jeans, hair done "just so" and makeup on ... of course, the oldest was up when we got home.

The next day, he kept asking questions "where were you guys??" "why were you so late??" and we just looked at each other and said, "we're adults ... why do you care?"

The older ones are the hardest ... LOL

I never even thought of getting changed at the club and yes it was very exciting to change in the car but next time we will just have to take pics and then instead of your imagination running wild, we will have pics to prove the excitement.

When we sneek out during the week, it is usually when we go away for the week, which we try to do a couple times a year with out kids.

When we are away with out kids we try to make every night Friday or Saturday. If we can't get a full week, we do the 2 nights 3 day get aways during the week.

Either way, life is too short. Life happens, we are all busy, so we try to play any time we can!
