Just like the Boy Scouts say..."Be prepared!"

We were at an off-premise dance last night - a Fantasy and Fetish theme... Mr Jeep was in his chaps and a thong, and his vest - I was a real naughty schoolgirl, pink mesh half top with nothing underneath, tiny skirt, highheeled sneakers and ponytails. It was a great dance, and we were having a ball !

Now it gets tricky... follow along here-

Cell phone rings (it's 1:00 a.m.) it's our 19 yr old daughter who lives on campus about 15 miles away... she is hysterical and crying and I can't get a logical word out of her! I begged her to put someone else on the phone, and Campus Security finally gets on...
Seems that she was trying to navigate the icy sidewalk on campus in her (stiletto) heels. Having a hard time doing that, in her slightly inebriated state she got on the back of a (even more drunk than her) gentleman who offered to give her a piggy-back ride. Y'now where this is going, right??

So, he falls over and she lands face first - splitting her lip, breaking her two front teeth, and banging up her face a bit. They have called the ambulance and are bringing her to Emergency.

We are about 45 minutes away from home, but only 20 minutes from the hospital... but wait can't show up there dressed like this !! HELP What to do??

Well, being that is was only about 25 degrees here last night, Mr Jeep had put a pair of sweats on over his chaps, so his tender butt would stay warm during the ride, but I had on nothing else! Wait... I still had those pair of jeans that I haven't gotten around returning to the store in the back seat of the Jeep!! So, Mr is racing off to the hospital and I am in the front seat trying to transform back into a "not-so-naughty" Mom - stripping off thigh-highs and plaid skirt, and trying to get into those too small jeans with the high heel sneakers - pull out the pig tails, peel off the pink gloves and wipe off some make-up...can't do much about the mesh half shirt, except to keep the coat on and all buttoned up to my neck!

Mr Jeep parks, and trades the chaps for a pair of sweats, and has a shirt tucked in a bag as well - with his biker boots and fringed leather coat... I'm sure we looked like quite a pair as we rushed into Emergency...and even funnier getting home at 6 a.m. this morning!

(Daughter is going to be alright, after many hours and thousands of $$'s of dental work ahead of her - the trauma of loosing most of your two front teeth is traumatizing for a beautiful young co-ed )


Lessons to be Learned:

1. Always bring a change of clothes when going to a theme party, as you never know what can happen
2. Don't let a drunk friend give you a piggy-back ride. head bang
3. Hospitals can get really hot in a pink leather coat with a fur collar and cuffs after 5 hours Surrender

Sorry to hear of the daughter's mishap first. Secondly, you pointed out something that I had never considered, what to do when things don't go according to plan. I will file away the potential need for a backup set of "civvies" for future reference. Hope all ends well for your daughter, bless her little heart. I remember some of the things I did in my youth .........

I'm sorry to hear about your daughter and I hope she'll be alright. Loosing front teeth is bad for anyone but very traumatic for a young girl.

On another note I'm am glad I wasn't drinking coffee when I read this .... picturing your ride to emergency of trying to change and then what you looked like walking in... I'm sure there are some nurses and doctors still talking about it.

We'll hope for a good recovery for your daughter.

Thank you all for your best wishes for my daughter... the bruises will heal and the teeth will be repaired (not soon enough for her though)...

Here's another factor to the whole thing... when we got there, she asked me to call her father (Mr. Jeep is her step-dad) and to let him know what happened. I went outside and called him from my cell - assuring him that she was fine and there was absolutely no need to come out at 2 a.m. - we were there and she was being examined and would soon go home...

Lo and behold, who comes walking in about 45 minutes later?? Of course, I haven't seen him in nearly 2 years - but as bad as I looked, he had gained at least 50 lbs since last time <EG>

I've gone to hotel rooms, unplanned, on a few occasions... and have hated trying to sneak out of the lobby looking like a rumpled trollup in the morning, stilletos in hand.

Well... I had the cuffs on me earlier, but Mr Jeep took them off me so I could answer the cell phone...hehe...

PS: Daughter is much better today - saw the dentist and she evened out the temp and did impressions for a perm cap! Only the wallet is still sore... Interesting enuf - she is obsesed about her AIM away messages - and the one on Sunday ( the morning after it happened) said..." Bruised Cheek, split lip, two broken front teeth... yeah, it was a good night..."

At least she got my sense of humor
