LCDC in Cleveland shut down

My husband and I just found out our favorite club in Cleveland, LCDC, was shut down in a raid last night. Apparently a club member turned the owner in. In the story we saw on the news website, the club was called a nuisance and needed to be shut down. A glaring error was saying the sex club operated nightly. It only ran on weekends.

The owner is a good friend of ours and was just trying to make a place where consenting adults could have fun. No one under 21 was allowed in the club. And there was never any pressure to do anything you didn't want to do.

When will we outgrow this puritan mindset we have about sex in this country?

This is an outrage. As they never mention that the Play to Win is a gambling haul, and the teen hang out is drug infested and gang related and that there is an adult book and toy store right across the way. Sighs...political motivations due to an upset party goer that was ousted for wrong play.

I am so mad, I just wrote Ch 19 and email. Nothing will come of it. They most likely will laugh at it and then put it in the trash bin. Journalist have not integrity now a days. They wouldn't know how to write a real story with the truth if the thing landed in their lap already written. First they would have to edit all out all the truth and fill it with lots of misdirection and lies. Nothing very exciting about the truth. Nope non at all.

Our hearts and prayers go out to our friends in Cleveland, and we hope this will come out to the good some how.

I just viewed the news video - this is just a really sad situation. Some pathetic jerk has to ruin it for everyone. My heart goes out to the club owner and members. I hope those hypocrites in government burn in their own self made hell!

Actually Brad we are in a national sweeps period. It is funny I could find no record of any of this in Cleveland's print media. Do you know the circumstances? The police can't get a warrant without any grounds.

We haven't been able to get in touch with the owner. But no we couldn’t find anything in the print media either. We can only go on speculation at this point on what has happened until we talk with the owner. But we see it as a disgruntled patron contacted ch 19 and then they did their down and dirty single scoped view of things to bring out a story to make it look they way they wanted it to look. As noted above in previous posts, they mention nothing about the other business and especially the one across the street. We believe the police used Ch 19 video for the warrant. I do not want to post too much of what goes on, in case someone reviews these boards for information. I wouldn’t put it past the media. All we can say is the owner hosts adult only parties occasionally not nightly. And there is never any adult paraphernalia lying about at any time. Basically he rents out a hall that isn’t used at night to throw a party. Old Brooklyn is definitely not a top of the line city by far. It’s kind of run down and dirty for the most part. We just hope the owner can find a new place in Cleveland proper. We know the mayor is bi and as long as no special attention is drawn to the club it should thrive once again. Best thing about the club is there is never any pressure and there are definitely no drugs or dangerous situations allowed on premise. The owner evicts anybody violating those rules. It's happened in the past and that is the only thing we can see happening here. One problem that might come up is that he does allow single males to come to most parties, but those are really select but you never know when a male ego gets bruised.

We just pray he can keep things going, even if he has to have hotel parties.

I hope this all works out for you folks in the Cleveland area. I was hoping to visit LCDC next weekend, I will be in town for training. I have noticed that there seems to be a lot of "swinging" couples in Ohio, so I would imagine that the owners of LCDC will find a new location.

We're going to get killed over this, but we find this statement to be just, if not more, offensive than the news video. As far as them shutting down the club; It's been posted on this board over and over again that the clubs need to be sure they are following ALL of the laws. It sounds as though this club wasn't. Plus the fact that, as someone else said, the police need to have a reason to gain a warrant so there were likely missed legalities by this club owner somewhere. We obviously aren't agreeing with them saying that swing clubs are immoral, but we also don't agree with implying that single males were the demise of a swing club. If they had dotted their i's and crossed their t's with the laws there wouldn't be anything the police could have done. This is not an accepted lifestyle, and pretty much everyone knows it, so there are going to be people that will be trying to shut down every club they can.
