On Premise? Off Premise???

We've only been to an on-premise place. 50 bucks a year, 10 bucks a visit... Substantially cheaper than getting a hotel room everytime you want to play.

We met a couple who talks about getting together outside the club - which we'd love to do - but then they always throw in the idea of getting a hotel room after lunch... That is kind of a turn-off. They are great people, and we'd love to hang out with them, but there is something a little bit seedy (and expensive - which is probably why it seems seedy.) about getting a hotel room for a few hours...

If we got to know them well enough - we'd be comfortable having them at our house (we have no kids underfoot). But the idea of tossing away fifty bucks for a hotel, just makes my wallet sphincter tighten... To toss it away after spending money for a club... Well - that just makes it worse... Okay - except for the obvious fact that I am a either (a) dirt poor and not ashamed to admit it, or (b) tighter than a virgin seahorse - does the potential cost of off-premise clubs make anyone else cringe?

And why off-premise? Are they neccessary is some states?

Very good questions, Spoomonkey! And most deserving of a topic of it's own.

To answer on our behalf, all of the couples we have met that we deemed compatible live quite some distance from us. Therefore we always make over night arrangements as do the other couples, generally in the same lodging that we are. While there are no expectations, we have gotten to know them well enough through chatting via phone and e-mail, that even if it does not work out sexually with the other, we will have all had a good time conversational wise.

Perhaps it depends on what you are looking for and comfortable with. For us we are very uncomfortable inviting just any one into our home and would much prefer to pay for lodging to keep our residence private even if we are in the same town, just to be on the safe side in case it doesn't work out. We have had memberships at four different clubs and for all but one have always made reservations to stay somewhere. For us, the 'X' amount spent on a club and room brings peace of mind.

We go to ON premise only as we hve often stated her before. The off premise clubs just don't turn our crank.

Since we have children still living at home getting a hotel room is the only way we go, be it for a few hours or the whole night.

There are no on-premise clubs close to us, the closest being a little over four hours away, which would mean if we did go we would still have to have a hotel room for the night so we always get a room when we are wanting to play.

We don't look at it as money thrown away but as money well spent in our case.

As far as on-premise versus off-premise, it really is a matter of choice and what you are comfortable with. We have been to both and are members of both and each hold their own appeal.

As far as off-premise being necessary, the laws do differ between the two clubs and I am sure there are those on here who can elaborate better on that than I can.

There are some places where it is illegal to run an on-premise club.

Even where it is legal, many of the on-premise clubs are not operating legally (just about all parties in homes fall into this category).

I am amazed that the club you patronize is so inexpensive. They must really pack in the bodies to be able to meet expenses.

For that matter, where do you get a hotel for $50 a night?

You must live in an area that has a cost of living significantly lower than the northeast. Good for you.

Just about ANYWHERE is cheaper to live and play than the northeast. I left Boston 24 years ago and have never glanced back.

do any of the ohio cpls know of Secrets? is it on-premises? We have only used hotels, but i agree, its expensive. We would love to try an on-premise club

According to the club listings on this site...http://www.swingersboard.com/clubs/clubs/oh.html it is an on-premise club. You might want to see if there are any reviews posted as well.
