Chance Meeting

Ever “bump into” someone you know at a club? A co-worker, a neighbor a family member? This has probably been discussed before and I’ve heard the “text book” answers…but I was wondering if anyone could provide a real-life experience. Has this ever happened to you? Love to hear about it.

It's never happened to me, but my first night at a club (off-prem) a couple was sitting at a table next to us, when all of the sudden they were ducking under the table. Everyone was was wondering what in the world was going on...lol. When in comes another couple through the door and yells "you're busted". LOL. They all ended up laughing and spent the rest of the night chatting together at the table. ...I guess if your are caught then so are they.

It hasn't happened to us, but the worst I have ever heard was a 4 couple meeting where one couple hadn't met two of the other three couples before. Well they all get to the motel parking lot and the male of the new couple is one of the gal's uncles............

the worst that has happened to us personally: each of us has run into former co workers. no big deal. exactly as you say they are caught same as you.

The worst I every heard of was someone who ran into her mother and step-dad. They apparently worked it out to do alternate weekends so they would never run into each other again

We ran into the vice-principal of our son's middle school at a bdsm club.

We have never "bumped into" anyone in that manner, but it's a huge fear of mine, especially now. We recently found out that my ex-husband and his current wife are members of our swing club !! We haven't attended since becoming aware of that fact, although we keep our membership current. I think I'd be horrified to come around a corner and see somene I knew.. particularly if it was my ex... ewwwwww

(Putting Devil's Advocate hat on) Unless, of course, they are 100% open about what they do, while you are 100% covert. Then there's always the possibility of being outed.

ahhh but then you would have to be an unethical person to "out" someone that wasn't already "outed" and I think even the people who are 100% open respect that others in the lifestyle still desire their privacy ...

It has happend 2 to me. Once was the trainer we use for dog training and the other was a co-worker. Neither time was it a big deal.

It gives you a start at first, but then you remember that they can't "out" you with out "outing" them selves. Besides we don't advertise that we go, but I don't have a problem if peole know.

I have seen it happen a 2 times and had it happen to me several.

All of the personal experiences have been in the category of no-big deal.

Of the 2 others, in one a couple found out that one of the male partners golf buddies belonged to the same club, and they ran into him at the next party, much to her dismay.

The other was a couple that travelled 3 hours to go to a club specifically so that they wouldn't see people they knew. Naturally, they ran into his cousin who had travelled from the same town. He wasn't pleased, but she thought the cousin was cute.

I also have it from a reliable friend that one of his highschool buddies ran into another friends mother at a club. There apparently was a mutual attraction that they proceeded to fulfill.

Agreed. The sort of circumstances I'd envisaged were those where the outing was inadvertently brought about, and certainly not done with any measure of calculation.
