Would you want to own a swing club?

Hell no. The primary reason is that I have owned businesses in the past that involved a hobby of mine and I learned that it is the quickest way to screw up a hobby their is.

Yep, if you own a swing club, then you can't legally play there. So, if you want to own a swing club business, and are physically present at the club enough to make it a success, you most likely won't be swinging any more.

I am a part owner in two venues, one in Moscow and the other in Novosibirsk, Russia.

The bureauocracy is a nightmare there, need a local to handle that.

Both have been going for a couple of years and we have no probs with the authorities but there is a problem with the local Mafia.

Fortunately one of the partners knew some-one who knew some-one and the hassles disappeared.

Both venues are busy almost every night of the week and when I'm there I get involved too

We recently listened to a couple of podcasts that interviewed owners of a couple of different swing clubs. We were struck by just how dedicated these folks are. We were also amazed by the amount of work. One couple actually works basically from noon the day of the opening to set up until noon the next day to clean up. The best clubs are those where you don't see the hard work, you just have fun. We can see how getting caught up in the fun makes you think it would be fun to run a club.

Hubby once thought about getting into the restaurant biz and did a few stints in college to get a feel for it. It's one thing to enjoy the idea of running a restaurant, but behind the scenes it's tough, tough work. You also work really lousy hours in terms of nights and weekends. He choose another path, but we have a real respect for what it takes to run a good restaurant.

Same goes for a good club (swing or vanilla). So two commandments for all of us should be:

1) Thank your club owner and hosts. Without them we would have no place to play.

2) Use towels and pick up your condoms! It's gross for all of us having to navigate a floor full of used condoms and ultimately it's the club employees who have to do it!!

It's too much work and with the political environment in some places, I think you're taking too much a risk.

Its a idea I have been toying with, sure, but as many have pointed out, only if money wasn’t an issue, for one, and the other is, as was pointed out already.. a LARGE property, plenty of feet from the road or any nosy/spying eyes.. 14 feet high stone fences surround property.

Going two or three steps further:
Making it a private club, much like a GOOD country club, with gated access only.

New attendees go thru a vetting process as well as a tour well before festivities begin..

Membership has its privileges.. private members only events, as well as days & nights where members only can gain access. Available for members 6 days a week, nearly 24 hrs a day..

Single Females, after passing the vetting process are allowed admittance free of charge

Single Males, however are allowed access after vetting, and a personal recommendation, on a month by month basis

newly built building, Locker rooms, bathrooms, 8 private rooms, a group room, as well as 4+ Large theme rooms.. which can accomodate 20 people easily

Jungle room - theme carries thru the room with large plants, Tiki Gods. Hammocks, “tree house bed“, Swings permanently mounted thru out..

Voyeur Room - Large Windows, as well as video cameras throughout the room.. Broadcast to other areas of the club

the Machine Room - Steamy room, decorated like a cross between Fucking machines.com and Dr Frankenstein’s lab.. Sybians, and other machines available for member use..

Dungeon -- ‘Nuff said

As well as the “moon” room.. think of the original revenge of the nerds.. The lunar landscape…lol

Vanilla meeting area, with Bar, dance floor, Dj lighting, pool table.. Kitchen and buffet area

The pool area.. With large 20 person Jacuzzi.. Outdoor deck with plenty of room for daytime sunbathing..

Any questions asked, Its a HEALTH CLUB, PRIVATE HEALTH CLUB..

Think of a private members only swingers resort.. Definately a situation where, money would HAVE to be no object.. a long term investment sure but the DIVIDENDS, Ah yes.. DIVIDENDS

Its a great idea IF you don't need to make money.

If you just wanted a club as a plaything sure, but I don't think the market is there, anywhere for a real country club. Most country club memberships start at 20k a year, plus dues.

Hell to the naw. Owning a club would turn it from play to work. And besides, I can think of few things more annoying than dealing with a bunch of drunk folks when you're stone, cold sober.

No, the terms I was considering was simply this.. If you went the country club route..

Four levels of membership, Four seperate membership fees

Gold - Gold pass opens seperate gate/entrance, allows 24 7 access, to all club amenities, facilities..

Silver - Silver pass allows access to facilties, Each time the "card" is swiped, its recorded on either gold or silver levels.. Silver level allows admittance 75 times thru out a one year period.. Weekends do not count..

Bronze - Bronze members are allowed access from Friday thru Sunday, all year long.. additional days on a pay per visit basis

Standard members are allowed access thru out month and additional times on a pay per visit basis..

And yes, it would have to be on a "I dont need the money" thing.. If it wasn't for fun...

Besides, if you build it, they will CUM

Yep, if you own a swing club, then you can't legally play there. So, if you want to own a swing club business, and are physically present at the club enough to make it a success, you most likely won't be swinging any more.

Just speaking hypothetically. The club owners we might have encountered at a few clubs, might have been selective enough that the risk was worth the pleasure..... Hypothetically that is, all of them we may have been to. Temptation perhaps does cause crimes of passion

As for the owners not being able to play, from what what I've seen they have a way around it. Once the club is officially closed, the rules appear to close with it. Some rent out rooms for the night, and some have private party's after close. Either way the owners are having fun if they wanna.

Not for all of the tea in China. Between the restrictive liquor licensing issues, the need for dedicated and specifically trained security personnel, the ever-present "grey area" in terms of legality, and the asinine manner in which far too many patrons are prone to behave, operating any sort of lifestyle club in America carries more headaches than it's worth. Hell, I had a hard enough time adapting to the differences between European, urban (American) and suburban (American) clubs. I don't know if I could bring myself to become the manager of a club in the States. Germany, maybe. The laws aren't as rigid, and (interestingly enough) even the most ignorant people are able to avoid engaging in obnoxious behaviour.

Of the three cubs that I visited in the State, two of them were run in an entirely different manner than the others. One of them was (as I soon learned) run Middle-American style, with the single men waiting to be chosen. The other two were run in the standard "introduce yourself" manner. The Middle-American one was cool on the single male front, but suffered from "obnoxious couple" syndrome. One of the Euro-style clubs has fighting men, the other one had prostitution and fighting women (because the wives didn't like the idea of having competition, and prostitutes are unclean). And then we had to deal with constant police inquiries (One of the clubs was set up below a "massage parlor).

Bottom line, I couldn't do it. Too much stress for way too little benefit.
