I'd suggest that your wife dress for comfort.

We've been to several clubs, and the first time I was trying to dress to impress. I was nervous already and had purchased a new bustier and miniskirt to wear. I felt like an idiot, and we did not get much attention that night, likely because I was awkward and shy.

The next time we went, I wore a cute, yet still sexy, but very comfortable minidress. We got TONS of attention, and I was able to smile and flirt and have a great time because I was not self-conscious about my outfit.

If your wife is comfortable in club wear, then you can find larger size stuff at www.torrid.com

Have a GREAT time!

Default What to Wear

I would suggest checking with the owners of the club you plan to attend and getting an idea of the usual attire. Each club that we have been to, range from casual dress slacks to skimpy sexy clothing as a normal mode of attire.

Do you have a Fredricks or Victorias Secret there or in a neighboring town? If not, you are still in luck as at this time of the year there is going to be some pretty sexy looking clothing on the racks for purchase for New Years Eve in just about any major department store. Generally in your upscale stores the lingeree departments offer a good selection of night wear that may be what you are looking for too. After the first of the year the Valentine's attire comes out and you can do some shopping then that may be something you might like.

Depending on how soon you are going you can call or go on line and get catalogs from Fredricks or Victorias Secret within a week or you can order on line too.

Hope that helps some. Good luck!

Lori

OhioCouple, you said that you have been to temptations before. What kind of "attire" would really be appropriate for there? Also, my wife is really self-conscious about her body. She thinks she is fat... like many other women. How can I really get her over this fear. That is one of the reasons we have not attended a club yet, is she is afraid the people won't like her or think she is fat, or ugly....you get the idea. She is not at all fat or ugly. She is really, I think, right around average size may a pound or two heavier. Me on the other hand, I got some pounds. I am not huge, but its there. But! I don't care like me or not, if you don't , well that's your problem. ()()

We have been to a total of four clubs. Two of which are in the Dayton area. The common attire for all clubs were basically Docker style pants for men with either a sports shirt or dress shirt and for the women a nice pants suit or dress.

Now, don't get me wrong, I've seen some in Jeans with a nice shirt/blouse (male or female) and they were not out of place at all. I do though think that a t-shirt or holey pants would be out of place. Just think of it as going out for a night to your local nightclub or mid-to upper scale restaurant and dress accordingly. You'll be perfectly fine. Oh, and tell your wife.....all of us girls feel that way! (for absolutely no reason according to my hubby)

Thank you very much for your help. I am glad to hear that before I went. We had thought that you would wear clothes like you would go to a dancing night club in. I am glad to find this out before we go and feel completely out of place wearing clothes that are not similar to others. Also, I told wifey that, and she laughed. Thanks!

Exclamation First Club What to Wear?

We might be going to our first club NYE. What should I (hubby) wear and what should Wifey wear? Do the women at some point start to wear lingerie and if yess should she be prepared to shed her clothes if the spirit informs her? Its on premises BTW.

I always go for sexy/classy (think stock broker/stripper combo) and easy off. This takes being creative occasionaly. I always have my robe with me just in case I don't feel like putting things back on right away.

Mr B usually goes with the black on black look. Quick, easy, and fits the "I am man it must only take me 2 minutes to decide what to wear" personality.

Being NYE, we'll probably go a little more dressy but not over the top or anything. I would recommend that you check with the club. They may have a theme that would make it easier to decide. Always be prepared to take it off even if you don't!

Ms B.

Point very well made. He usually dresses nice, a polo, slacks, shoes and of course socks that match. While I will dress a bit more provocatively. If there is a theme we will match up with it. I have never been able to wear those super high heels, so I'll wear a nice shoe and depending on the weather, stockings, hose, or bare skin....

However read through the clubs rules and they may give you a hint as to what the attire is. If you get a chance, email or call them.

Have a great time!!!

Dress to impress, but make sure you are comfortable with whatever it is you decide to wear. It's a good idea for the wife to also bring along some lingerie to wear, but the etiquette regarding lingerie and/or nudity will depend upon the club. Give them a phone call and ask. Have fun!

Wear what you would wear to make you feel the best about yourself and with the thought of attracting others to want to know you. You only have one opportunity to make good first impression. Be yourself, that would be the person we would want to meet.
