Questions For Clubs

Many clubs require a telephone interview before they let you in the door. This lets them confirm the sincerity of the couple.

For those who visit multiple clubs, do you have standard questions that you ask the owners before you go there? Anything that makes you feel better before you attend?

I prefer seeing it online first if possible. I believe few actual clubs use the telephone interview process. When you hit the door you could ask the same questions though.

Ask the questions that are important to you. The one question I've heard over the years is that I dislike, "are the women there good looking/hot?", I'll give them the phone and let them talk to the wife just for fun.

When I originally read this question I didn't answer because we have never been to a club or considered going to one that required a phone interview. But if they did, I can't really think of anything I would ask, because it has been our experience that no matter what anyone tells us about a club, it usually has very little resemblance to our opinion of it once we visit it. Therefore, we pretty much prefer not to ask and clutter our minds with preconceived notions of what to expect. But that is just us.

When traveling to another city where we knew there was a club, we wasn't so sure about it. The fact is, the only way to know this club was an ad in the local newspaper. It had only the club name and a cell phone. I called, asking for the address, and also to check out on them beforehand. I played dumb, as if we've never been in a club before, and asked them to tell me what to expect. The way the woman answering the call answer my question was enough for me to let me know it was a serious place.

I believe the best policy is to gather more information than the one you provide, at leas at first.

Just to follow up with this thread...

We came up with some generic questions (play rooms, cost, etiquette) and the club was more than happy to provide answers. Their main goal for the phone interview was to ensure that both members of the couple knew what kind of club it is.

Our first trip to a swing club is this Saturday. We're not nervous right now but that might change as we walk up to the door.
