| Beware, noob giving advice | Should we just wear or normal club clothing for something like this? I checked the Club's website and newsletter, and it says nothing about it. Is there a typical theme to Mardi Gras? All I know is to bring some beads. Mr. Truelove

Typical Mardi Gras colours are lime green, purple, red, silver and gold, but it can really be anything you want. M&H |

| Sarah&Roger's Female Half | We were at a Mardi Gras party at a club two years ago. I (female) wore a mardi gras mask, a camisole and short jean skirt, fishnet stockings, and heels. The guys don't have an easy answer - most were wearing normal street clothes, but heavy on the beads to hand out!! ![]() Have a great time!! Sarah

| Celebrate perversity | I've been to two Mardi Gras parties at a local lifestyle club -- and a swinger get-together at party-town Put-In Bay (Lake Erie Islands) -- where beads are expected accessories. I followed fashion and wore beads over what I would normally wear to those events. Unlike many of the other swing events I attended I suddenly seemed to be handsome and desireable. One woman after another would approach me, bat eyelashes, and smile seductively. They would lean in close and whisper provocative things. I would feel a hand on my chest or arm...then they'd try to sneak some beads from around my neck. Okay, so it was the beads. Big deal. No matter what clothes you wear, if any, make sure you wear a lot of beads. You can usually find them at the big party supplies stores, but also eBay and other sites on the 'Net. Get the usual round beads in gold, purple, and green Mardi Gras colors, but also look for strings in other colors and shapes, and strings with unusual pendants attached. I've worn strings that are red with chili peppers every 20 beads. Some had parrots, flamingos, or shamrocks on them. I've seen them with crawfish, goldfish, dolphins, shrimp, motorcycles, peace signs, tiny beer mugs, hearts, etc. I've also seen strings of beads where each bead is bigger than a golf ball. You can give the regular beads out liberally and save the "special" bead strings for "special" friends. It might shock you, but some people will do almost anything for a unique string of beads! ![]() Hope you have a great time! Thrax

| Great Times 1 Year Exp. | We're going to a Mardi Gras party next weekend, and my main focus is to wear something that will allow me to flash the girls quickly. ![]() Similar to what I'd wear in New Orleans, except I can wear heels and not worry about spraining my ankle on the asphalt (as I did in N'awlins). | Beware, noob giving advice | We already went to this last month. We dressed up but it seemed everyone else was wearing street clothes for the most part. Mr. Truelove

The group I was with all took the ferry back to the mainland, headed back to my dad's house for a cookout, and proceeded to string his entire house with beads. I'd say as a man, come in weighed down with the beads. The "special" strands are kind of expensive. I can't remember where you're from, but Columbus has a neat little Yankee Trader store where you can buy ALL kinds of Mardi Gras themed stuff...masks, pins, beads, head-dresses, ect. ect. | |

| Great Times 1 Year Exp. | Aww, that's too bad, Mr. Truelove. We'd be a bit disappointed if we spent all that time to dress in theme and no one else did. My dressing up really turns Mr. D on, so I'm not going to stop just because others are too lazy to participate. Hoping everyone enjoys their parties this month! Mrs. D |

| Beware, noob giving advice | I wasn't really that dissapointed. To me, street clothing is probably an accurrate Mardi Gras costume. I'll be looking forward to some theme parties that are a bit more exact. Like naughty schoolgirl night. What does a guy wear on that day, a teachers outfit? Hehe. Mr. Truelove

| Disney! All rides are open | I think it depends on the club or if a party the promoters. One club here in Columbus when they have a theme night it is all out and everyone dresses up even the club owns will have something on signifying the theme. It might be just a mask or as on Valentines party night he (the male owner) had on a red sequined suit coat and the club was totally decorated in theme and there were live flowers in vases all along the bar and as the women left at the end of the night he made sure they all got one. If you don't come dressed in theme they will have things to give you (i.e. a mask, beads, hats, or a lei (Hawaiian night)). Another club that we go too other than New Years they don't go as all out and if you come and your not in theme it's no big deal. There you don't have too many that dress up for theme nights. The point is I just think it is all about the owners/sponsors. If they are into it and want everyone else to be then they'll be in theme and have something to give people if they don't come in theme and make it fun for all. Hope you have fun either way though because ultimately isn't that what it's all about. Mrs Spoomonkey
