I'm very curious, and wonder if all of you who get to go to clubs regularly can answer: is there such a thing as a non-smoking swinger's club (most of the space is non-smoking), with perhaps a designated smoking area, or where people smoke outside on the deck, etc? Or, is there such a thing as a club that has at least two bars/dance floors/main areas, one designated non-smoking? I know that in some states, including nearby Florida, there are laws now prohibiting smoking in most public buildings. I've heard that some of the bars down there are non-smoking now...or maybe this is the bars which adjoin a restaurant/serve food, I'm not sure. A lot of swing clubs serve a buffet dinner, so I wonder about that. How do they handle smoking or non-smoking areas at the club(s) you go to? Thanks! |

| Sarah&Roger's Female Half | I haven't been to a Florida Swing Club so I can't answer about those, however I can say that in the Keys a bar has to serve food to not allow smoking. A lot of our bars are still smoking because even though they serve food they are considered 'outdoor' or significantly 'outdoor'. The lifestyles hotel that we've been to has outdoor smoking only - or in their smoking rooms. The swing club we were at in Georgia was not non-smoking. In fact we left the dance early because the room was SO smoke filled. Sarah |

However, swingers clubs are private clubs, so smoking is allowed in certain areas.

In stand-alone bars you are still allowed to smoke. At the only social in the area that is still going on...you go outside to smoke. If a social is held in a hotel conference room, you go out side as there is no smoking in public buildings. A couple of years ago when we were in Tampa the club we went to you were still allowed to smoke in side. Teresa

Each place out here is a bit different....smoke on a patio vs a garage vs a ventilated room vs anywhere outside of any rooms....... It's easy enough to ask when we call, if the info isn't on the website to start. S

When you walk in the bar is to the right. Then you turn left into the main club area. Up to the left is the smoking VIP section. To the right is the non smoking VIP... in front of the smoking VIP is the lounge where everyone gets freaky. Then in the center is the main seating area, and the dance floor and pole is in front of the main area. They are going to do all kinds of renovations soon, with private booths and such.

| Loving life (style) | Our favorite club (NWX) here near Seattle is non-smoking. It's the state law. Smoking is allowed only outside.

One is a club more along the lines of what most would be used to in that it is a BYOB type club in a very big house (about 5000 square feet). The later one is non-smoking with a designated smoking area (in what used to be a garage).

| Where's the party! | Our big reason why we don't spend more time at clubs is smoking. Laurie is allergic to tobacco smoke. If she gets too big a dose of smoke her throat swells up, her eyes swell shut, and she is wheezing for days. She can avoid most of those symptoms by taking benedryl, but then she's sleepy, muddleheaded and not feeling sexy at all. We'd LOVE a non-smoking club.

| Doing it our way... | At our club, the smoking is relegated to the main bar area or the patio. It isn't allowed anywhere else. I've never noticed the smoke on the dance floor, or in the back rooms, only in that main bar area. Rebecca

Now - I don't know if clubs count as public places or if they have some "private establishment" provision. But anywhere else will be completely smoke free. |
