Good news, we had email contact with the organizers of the nearest on-premise club to us (we still have to travel, though) - and they have one designated smoking area, the bar - the rest of the club is non-smoking. They said they use smoke-eaters in the bar. Now, it's not a big place at all from what we hear, and it will probably still be smoky enough to have some effect on us (especially if we want a drink), but this is still better than the clubs that have smoking all over the place. Hopefully the dance floor area is very separate from the bar area - but we don't know yet. Have you checked around your area to see if any of the clubs in your range are at least partially non-smoking? This thread is encouraging, to see that so many of them are truly non-smoking (with outdoor smoking area). | |

Where we live, there is no smoking in restaurants, bars, or clubs. In fact, as I understand it, we even have a law against smoking under an AWNING, outside. But I believe you can smoke under an umbrella, go figure. |

The whole club is now smoke-free. (And we like it better that way!) B

I just spent a whole day feeling ill and talking with a raspy voice, because we went to a club last night. We were only in there for all of three hours, but the smoke kills me. I just can't take it anymore. My husband fared somewhat better than I did this time, but we both just hate it. I don't want to spend one more night breathing that crap (sorry, but I'm really fed up)! I put some real thought into this today. We are literally going to plan our social lives around the smoke, even if it means interstate travel just to avoid it. Where we live, we have to travel for a good social scene, anyway. We have to do the 225+ miles NW up to Atlanta, or N/NE up into the Carolinas. Or, we can focus our attention southward into Florida. I think our odds of smoke-free clubs are going to be better looking southward. Can any of you tell us more, in detail, about your clubs in these four states? Are any of them smoke-free? If there's a designated smoking area, is it so centralized that you really can't avoid it - like a bar that's just a few feet away from the dance floor/main social area? Or, is it tucked away in a separate room, or even better, on a screened-in porch or something? The thing is, we love to dance. We really love it - it's our thing. We would so love to find a place where we can dance and breathe clean air. We'd be on Cloud 9 if we could dance, breathe, laugh, and have a grand time meeting other non-smoking swingers, all under the same roof. ![]() Please help - smoking specifics about clubs in our general area (from about central FL up through the Carolinas), will be sooooo appreciated! ![]() |
