In addition we've been to Bluegrass Secrets in Louisville, KY and several years ago I was a somewhat regular at Club Chameleon in Phoenix Arizona. Each club has it's pluses and minuses, thought I'd take a few moments to go over each of them. The one visit to Club LayDen was decent, but there was only a very small crowd. This has been 3 years ago, perhaps they now have more regulars. The people there were friendly, and they did their best to get everyone involved. The club allowed single males in, but the males were very respectful. Our visits to Club Utopia were mostly good. Their Halloween party was a bit overwhelming, but the other times were great. They allow single males on Friday nights. Although the single males didn't intrude, they did leave you feeling you were surrounded by vultures any time anything was going on. Still, the club itself gets very high marks. At Bluegrass Secrets, we had a great time, but walked away not liking the club. They have a supposedly strict dress code (that apparently didn't apply to a few) but the inside is somewhat shabby. They allow "a few select" single males and those followed us like lost puppies. They did, however, keep their distance which is nice. Our main complaint is the clubs attitude. They make it clear that you are coming there to play with others. You are not there to watch and there are areas of the club where anyone can grab, grope, whatever, without asking. Just not our idea of a great time. That said, we still had a great time. Go figure. So far, our favorite has been Club 201 in Evansville. It's closer to home, incredibly clean, very friendly and is couples (and single females, but very few of those) only. They have no beds and no truly private rooms, but somehow that doesn't seem to matter. The owners are friendly and concentrate on keeping things moving instead of spending the whole night seeing how many they can score with. Both of us are eager to return again, and again. If anyone wants info on this or any of the other clubs mentioned, just drop us a line. Will be glad to share our little bit of knowledge. |

| Swingers Board Addict | If your last visit to Layden was three years ago, things have changed. They are in a new, larger building, and Saturday nights are getting pretty busy. Last time we went was about 3 weeks ago, and it was packed. You are right about the people there, very friendly and respectful. You should give it another try sometime.

| Swingers Board Addict | Layden has done a lot in the past few months. We are somewhat regular there and the crowds have grown exponentionally in that time period. They have also done a lot of upgrading to the actual club itself. It has always been a VERY Clean place, but they have really been spending a lot of time building extra rooms, adding theme rooms, upgrading the furniture and so forth. The re-opening of Shenangins is interesting. I was never really a fan of that club... Further, I was really turned off that they were charging for memberships up until the weekend they actually closed. That just didn't seem right to me. I also hate the fact that the place smells like fried chicken all the time, and after you have been there a while, you, too smell like fried chicken. This 're-opening' just seems like grasping at straws, and a bit unstable.

You did leave out one thing and that was the smoke. We learned after our first visit to leave our coats in the car to cut back on our dry cleaning bill. The odd thing is in all our visits we never ate any of the chicken - lol. We did however meet a number of very nice couples. Loved the fact the back room was smoke free (after you got through the corridor of smokers). Loved the fact that it was couples only. And it was 25 minutes from our house. Utopia is still our favorite in Indiana but just too far from home. For us its the equivalent of the old recliner that others might throw away. It may look bad and smell a little funky but its comfortable. And what the hell, if it turns out to be a bust, we'll head back to Indy and try out Hot Spot. We hear great things about it. |

At least second-hand "fried-chicken fumes" aren't carcinogenic. Has anybody figured out definitively what happened to Club Adventure? That place went down faster then the Edmund Fitzgerald... | |
