We've been swinging long enough that we know our groundrules, as well as how to behave in the over all setting, so my questions are a bit on the boring side, I'm sure. ![]() The first question how to dress. That is easy for my wife, she was told "dress sexy", which is no problem for her. For me, I understand no jean or sneakers seem to be the norm, so would slacks & a sweater be OK? Almost a buisness casual sort of attire? Next, the party is BYOB. I've never been to a BYOB bar. They have a private lounge on one floor, and a private dance bar on another. I have no idea if we're supposed to cart our drinks around like some college kegger (I assume that isn't the way to do it, lol ), do we keep our drinks in our room and go back for refills, or is there a normally a place to leave them in the main dance bar? If that is the case, would there be a bartender I'd be expected to tip? Since we're staying in the hotel, we wouldn't be bringing much with us to the party, but I'd hate to NOT have a bit of cash if needed. I think that is it, but if anyone has anything to add, feel free, since I'm sure there are things I haven't even thought of yet. |

Most of the hotel socials we attend that are BYOB we just carry our drinks in a small cooler and keep them right at our table, others we have been to there has been a bar, we turned our drinks in, they put our names on them and when we wanted a drink we just went and asked for one...now some have it where you tip the bartender and others don't. Like I said, your best bet with this is to contact the club and ask them. Teresa

How about some details? we're fairly new to the lifestyle and have been trying to find some real people and places to go and have some fun. Our only experience was this past summer @ Hedo and we had a blast. We're a straight couple and non smokers and no drugs and clean. We'd love to attend the party, so if you can help that would be great. thanks AlnPeg |

Another suggestion: We found a great insulated picnic kit that we carry with us. It came with plastic wine-style glasses, corkscrew/bottle-opener, and other picnic stuff. We took out all the other stuff and have room for our booze, asprin, condoms, toys, and more. it is canvas with a nice canvas strap that is comfortable to carry around, and everythign is close by. I think you can find them at Bed, bath and beyond or anywhere really. On Men's dress, I think it is best to wear business casual to any event, but remember that you could get warm. It seems in most swingers places, they do turn up the heat to help keep the scantaly clad women warm, but then men in sweaters are steamy. Mr. Indy usually wears a nice pair of dress pants and a button down shirt, or a thin weight sweater. Sometimes he may wear a jacket or sportcoat too. And comfortable shoes!

Went to Leisue club in Hartford a month ago and just wore dressy casual clothes. There were some couples there in jeans, but they were younger than us. Most seemed to dress as we did. We're going back this week-end..(feb 26)..as it's comfortable there. My lady bought ssome new sexy items to wear this time. I will dress in dress slacks and open collar long sleeve sporty type shirt Hope this is helpfull |

I'm sure you weren't invited to the party because you look good when you get all dressed up. Next the hotel parties that we've attended don't include a lounge and dance floor. The only hotel parties that we've been to also include BYOB. Make sure that this is included in the party. Most of the time there are a number of rooms rented depending on how many people are coming to the party and everything takes place in the rooms. So you don't have to worry about where you can get your drinks from. I'm sure you know your own ground rules but do the other's ? We meet at a local sports bar and have a few drinks and get to know everyone then go back to the hotel. Then everyone set's their own groundrules and let's everyone know them. I hope you have lot's of fun. |
