You asked a poll question about having a viral STD that was recently quite the controversy on here and wonder why few have responded? It's not like we can be truly anonymous or anything... And to Alura, it's quite likely that you don't know if you have HPV. And in fact you most likely did at some point in your life. Most people do. There are 70-some known strains of it. Some cause warts on hands, feet, etc. Some cause genital warts. Some rarer strains have *no* visible external symptoms and end up being linked to cervical cancer. Testing between the strains is expensive and time-consuming. According to that one link from the other thread, there was no point in testing men, and almost none in testing women under 30. It frequently comes back positive, and is rarely a real threat to health. |

Well, We voted "yes" because if we continued to swing we would definetly tell anyone we played with. If it bothered us to tell people then we would stop playing. If someone knew they had ANY STD and didn't tell their swing partners/playmates Especially if you know they WILL catch it from you. Don't see how anyone could go to sleep in peace after doing that. Don't cry FRC! It's a good poll! We don't have HPV, but we know our answer anyway. |

We would deffintly tell some one we plan to swing with if we had any kind of Disease or illness or STD or whatever we might have picked up. I would expect the same for the person we are intterrested in swinging with.

From what I can tell, the question regarding HPV was conditional--a simple, hypothetical, if-then question. I don't think the question was meant for those with HPV only. We don't have HPV, and we answered. 2N |

I just reread the question, and I can see why it may seem like an HPV carrier only question. It is a little ambiguous. Correct me funrealcouple; was this a poll meant for HPV carriers only, or is the question strictly hypothetical? 2N |

I didn't vote because I don't own an HPV... I think they guzzle too much gas frankly... I'm a CRV man myself... Spoomonkey |

Maybe the question ought to be, if you are swinger is your chance of catching it from another swinger any greater than a vanilla type catching it from another vanilla type who is dating, cheating, etc. Been my experience that swingers are more STD aware and educated than the normal population.

I suspect your chance of finding a swinger that would have gotten the test is higher than in the general population. Quote:
