A guy called Dr. Alex Ferenczy (from McGill University) has actually done a study to see how long STDs last in underwear. Fourteen per cent of the panties they tested tested positive for HPV or human papilloma virus, a particularly virulent virus that causes genital warts. Ferenczy has seen it survive at 196 degrees below zero. Even detergents won’t necessarily kill it, he says. They don’t know, however, whether the virus – which is usually contracted through skin-to-skin contact – remains infectious outside the body.

Herpes is another STD that is can survive outside the body. Ferenczy says tests done in swimming pool areas discovered that the herpes virus survived on towels for up to three days. Again, they don’t know if the herpes is contractible in this state. Ferenczy, who admitted he’d never really had to think about the question before, felt the chances of contracting anything from mail-order panties are pretty remote.

Most of the bugs that cause STDs don't live long outside the body. Therefore, perhaps the key to safe sniffing of some porn star's panties is to get them out of the sealed plastic bag they were shipped in and letting them air out for a few days before you press them to your face. They won't be quite as aromatic as the day they arrived, but the woman's scent will last longer than any STDs she might have.

I met an editor for High Society magazine a few years ago and told him about my website. He asked if I sold my lingerie and such and I told him occasionally. His next question was "what mixture do you use?". I was puzzled.

It seems that most of those ads you see in mags and such, the used panties aren't really used at all. They are new and the person selling them uses a mixture of I don't know what to create a texture and smell of worn panties.

Think about it. Most of those ads end up selling hundreds of pairs a month..... a girl just can't wear that many.

Well, provided the person buying remains under the illusion that his newly purchased 'soiled panties' have been worn for twelve hours by a nubile 18 year old during gym class and horse riding practice, what's the harm? Healthier for the buyer too, given the potential STD risk.

If a man or woman orders these "freashly worn with the scent of a nimble 18 year old collage freashman who just finished a gruelling day of classes and she peels of her lacy silky undergarments to sell them that they actually be real and not some 50 years old slobbering dougnut eating pigs idea of a good way to make a buck!

Oh absolutely, it's a total deception (if the panties are indeed being assembled by 50 year old men using some strange concoction.

They aren't all fake. There are some out there that do sell their freshly worn panties... that are actually freshly worn. But these are most likely going to be your small amateur websites, where you actually get a chance to know the real girl who would be wearing the panties (for instance, when I had my site I sold panties that I had actually worn). But chances are that any ad that says "nubile blond 18 year old" is probably fake.. even if it's just that she's not really nubile, blond or 18.
