My girlfriend and I had sex about 3 days after she had her period. I took it out before i ejaculated but I'm worried that the pre-ejaculation might've gotten in. Anyways, right after we had UNPROTECTED sex, the next day I got her Plan B (emergency contraceptive pills) right away. She already took one dose. And is waiting on taking the second one on time. So is it possible that she might still be pregnant? Please help me with these info, I'm stressed out and really worried. |

Well it is possible but rather unlikely. As long as she keeps taking her pills you shouldnt have anything to worry about. As far as her taking her pills if she did get pregnant the pills will cause a miscarriage. I do know that the pre-cum can get u pregnant but like I said it is unlikely. Hope everything turns out ok for you both.

The emergency pills should make sure that she doesn't get pregnant. Also, if you didn't cum inside her the chances are that she is likely not pregnant. You should really consider using condoms EVERY TIME OUT or she should go on the pill (or both) so that you don't continue to stress yourselves out. |

I agree with Lovers and Thump29, chances are a pregnancy did not occur, but in the future make sure one or both of you are using a contraceptive device to alleivate the anxiety.

If she does not have medical insurance, almost every county has medical services (or planned parenthood). Take advantage of them. Its one of the few areas I don't mind my tax dollars being spent. J |

My girlfriend and I had unprotected sex on the 27th of June....but she took the Plan B pills on the 28th of June, so people tell me there isn't much possibility that she's pregnant. But Today is the 3rd of July and we just had sex (protected this time with condoms), I took it out before I even came in the condom. I checked after sex by filling the condom up with water there there was no tear or leakage. The condom was Trojan latex. So is there anychance that us having sex will affect how the pills will effect? Will the pills still prevent her from being pregnant? This is day 5 after she has taken the pill. Please give me some information or advice, thank you for your help. |

Short of that, I can't imagine any reason, from a physiological standpoint, that the mere act of having sex 5 days after taking the pills would have any bearing on the effectiveness of the pills. Those pills, once swallowed and absorbed from the GI tract and into the blood stream, are doing or have already done what they were intended to do - several days ago. As for the effectiveness of condoms, that is always rather questionable. I understand they have a significant failure rate even when used appropriately. You may want to check this site or others. http://www.advocatesforyouth.org/pub...t/fscondom.htm But again, do yourselves a big favor and get a professional answer. You'll sleep better - I promise. -EBF | |

EC isn't going to make her period come any earlier. You posted that you had sex 3 days after her period ended. So you are going to still be waiting the normal month until she has her next normal period. If you are seriously worried then I'd suggest getting an early detection pregnancy test to quelch your fears.

Get a pregnancy test done. It's not too early for early detection. it will put your fears to rest. Unfortunately, they will probably only be put to rest until you have sex again. From the sounds of it you will probably be paranoid every time the two of you have sex. You might want to just abstain... or maybe try doubling or tripling on the protection (pill, condom, sponge, iud)... pick a few... maybe that will help the paranoia. |

---The very best advice and the best protection you can get is with two forms of birth control. That's why I suggest you read Julie's post again and really take it to heart. Birth control pills do have a failure rate, but when you combine them w/foam and /or a condom, your golden. My hubby and I used a variety of methods and still had 3 lovely children. My sister used to say that all he needed to do was look at me and I'd get pregnant. Sure seemed to be the case!! --Having said that, please, please do yourselves a favor and have a good heart to heart talk and agree not to have sex without protection of 2 kinds. ---Taking the morning after pill is hard on a woman's body and hormone balance. If it causes a miscarriage, it is really hard on her. You sound like a caring man, and I give you big props for asking on the forum for advice. The anxiety and worry about pregnancy is the last thing you really want to have on your mind when you could be enjoying one of the nicest ways of expressing love on the planet. Ultimately, it will take it's toll on the relationship. You don't need that. Hope this is helpful, it is not meant to be judgemental at all. The folks at Planned Parenthood do an excellent job educating people of all ages on birth control. They will allow you to be present when you both hear the information and will answer your questions with respect and care. Go yourself, go together, just go....and get your worries dealt with. Then pour yourself a double, you've earned it! |
