D/D free in regard to profiles

I’ve posted this poll for people who state in their profile that they are d/d free and prefer that their playmates be also. I wonder what they are trying to tell me when they say that. Are they saying that they do safe sex only? Are they saying they only play with couples that have recently been tested? Or, are they saying that they only play with couples who think they are d/d free? Do these couples play bareback at all? There are many different things that could be meant by saying this, what does it mean to you?

This poll is not intended to start a debate about the efficacy of condoms or how to prevent the transmission of STD’s.

In our profile, it states that we are d/d free and prefer that others be also. We don't believe it requires a recent blood test, but it does require condoms, and that is non-negotiable (which is also stated in our profile).

I did not vote as our profile is not one of those that makes a statement of this kind. But I too have wondered what people mean by these statements so I'll be checking in.

We don't have this statement in our profile, as we think it is one of those overused phrases that loses meaning unless the profile goes into details.

But what do people mean by it? I think most people mean they don't do illegal drugs and don't want them around, and that they believe they do not have any STDs. It may or may not mean they have ever been tested, or it may mean they've been tested in the last year or two, for some STDs. I bet it rarely means the couple have recently been tested for HIV-HPV-Herpes-Gon-orr-I-can't-spell-that-Chlamdy-can't-spell-that-either, etc. etc.

I someone has "paper" and wants potential playmates to show paper too, I'd prefer to be told that up front.

Oops . .. Caught! We're one of those couples who put the D/D free thing on our profile. Initially, we did it because, quite frankly, we don't use drugs and get tested regularly for STD's. We don't require testing of partners, since we know the tests are really only good for the day that they're done.

We have since removed that bit from our profile, figuring most folks don't want to play with HIV-positive heroin junkies.

I think it usually just means we only want to play with those that are d/d free like us. Beyond that, at least in our case, we aren't trying to tell anyone anything by it.

We too had D/D free on our profile as I saw it in others..but what does it really mean? I liken it to the sign "Fresh Fish" in the market. What other kind of fish would one want?

Means drug and disease free.

I'm sure most people do not get tested after every encounter. So I imagine they put that down because they do not know of having anything. And would prefer their prospective partners to be the same.

Drug free is the easy part. (although what's a drug to you? alcohol?) I take it to mean illegal drug - free.

We think it means nothing, other than people following some sort of protocol.
