Generally accepted rule in swinging seems to be to play it safe and when doing full swap and going for intercourse with your swing partners. When ready to fuck the man puts on a condom on his penis, or, alternatively slips one in her (his swing partner's) vagina (female condom) when he is ready to sink his dick in his swing partner's pussy and fuck his/her partner to orgasm.

Under what circumstances do you relax this unwritten rule (no comdom, no fucking) and fuck him/her bareback without the latex getting in the way of full unprotected and unhindered raw contact between your penis and her vagina during intercourse? The intercourse without condoms is arguably the most enjoyable way to have sex since the man's penis can sense the warmth and moisture of the woman's vagina as the penis gets bathed in her vaginal juices, facilitating and making intercourse pleasurable to both partners.

We prefeer fucking our sex partners bareback when swinging provided we know the couple and are comfortable that there is very little or no chance of contracting STD. Else, condoms are a must if you are going to do full-swap of mates and fuck your play partners.

No exceptions to this rule as of yet and we've been swinging for about 3 years.

Condoms offer almost no protection against herpes; in all likelihood you're going to catch herpes from someone whether you wear a condom or not. There is a very small percentage increase in protection against herpes when using a condom, so it's better than nothing. In terms of statistical relevance though it's not very significant. Not your point I know, but I just wanted to make that statement

Yea, I actually read the whole STD thread here that mentions that pretty heavily when I first joined which was helpful. I still believe in the 'ounce of prevention' ideology and just hedging my bets.

The only time we would consider bareback is if we were exclusive with another couple. Exclusive as in, neither couple is fucking any one else, which will probably never happen. So for us the risk is just too great.
Regarding herpes, I have a friend that I have known since high school, his girlfriend has herpes which she caught from her previous boyfriend. They've been together for years, fuck like rabbits and he is still herpes free. We've had discussions about how they manage it and it's a combination of condoms, medication and her paying very close attention to what's going on down there. Condoms DO help but only if the person with herpes has the facts and is being vigilant about it. However it's true that condoms in and of themselves will do nothing to prevent it from being transmitted.

I contracted herpes recently. I used my descretion on who I went bareback with. Mostly women I knew that didn't have a lot of partners in her life. This worked till I was 45. I contracted it from someone I knew and had been having sex with for over a year. "Thought she was safe" Most people with herpes don't know they have it.

Through conversations with friends I found that more people than I previously knew have herpes. A lot of people have sex regularly with people who do not know they have herpes. Condoms don't always cover the infected area. And just because there are no sores does not mean they aren't contagious.

I knew the risks. I don't blame anyone. But don't be naive on this virus. Its not the end of the world but it is much more common than people think. Condoms help but don't prevent. Like most of you I liked sex too much to worry. And now that I have it I have to be more selective and am always open with it.
