What kind of protection do you use?

I was reading this post about surgically safe swingers and it got me to wonder. I myself had a vasectomy but still use condoms when swinging. My wife just uses condoms and sometimes it makes me a little uneasy to tell you the truth. We had a condom break once and it was an awful feeling

So I'm curious to know what you guys use when playing with other couples.

I had a vasectomy many years ago. My decision to have this surgical procedure did not relate to swinging lifestyle considerations. I use condoms with all women except the ones who have become especially familiar. To the ears of a woman with whom I am having a first-time intimacy, saying "I have had a vasectomy" might sound just like "Your check is in the mail." A condom also provides a barrier to bacterial and viral infection.

I'm fixed, Mr. Ivory isn't, and we insist on condoms at all times. The risk of disease just isn't worth it.

I (Trixie) am on the pill.

Though we haven't tested the waters with another couple yet, we have a "Set In Stone" Rule: condoms ALWAYS, period. Neither of us desires to break that one!

I am V-safe and Mrs. is not "fixed". She is also currently not on the pill. I use condoms regardless and Mrs. always requires condoms from men other than me.

I'm on the pill. We use condoms for swinging unless in a longer-term situation and if everyone agrees to go without.

One strange thing is how infrequently birth control is actually a subject of conversation between us and those we swing with. There has been more than one time we were with a couple with a fertile-age woman, and I realize later we never asked. Using condoms for a sole form of birth control is not as effective as I would like.

I'm doing depo shots and Dave is v-safe. However, condoms are still a requirement in all situations.

Wife and I always have two forms of birth control in our control. Like another poster above, hearing that someone is 'safe' is very much like 'the check is in the mail'. So, we keep the control in our hands. Condoms are always a requirement.

There may come a point some day in the future if we have long term partner(s) that we completely trust that we might flex this rule, but it's beyond consideration at this point.

I am at home alone today without an automobile and looking for things to do. So I decide to look though the filing cabinet and separate all the old stuff for putting into the paper shredder or tossing into the garbage. But what do I find? Dental dams.

What a hoot. Four years ago we had no idea what we were doing or into what we might be getting. We watched Sue Johanson on TV and she had recommended to several people to use dental dams between your tongue and a woman's private parts to prevent the transmission of disease. Well, we made an on-line order, ripped a few packages open so I could "practice" on JoAnn. I'll tell you what. This was like trying to have sex while both of us were standing on different sides of a screen door. So I filed the dental dams away in order to have them out of sight for house guests.

They are going into the trash today. But I guess I will ask. Do any of you actually use dental dams during oral sex?
