Combining condom + diaphragm?

Can you use both a condom and a diaphragm together safely?

I know that 'double wrapping' (two condoms) is a no-no based on increased risk of tearing due to friction.

Searching on google so far is not enlightening me.

Edit to add: still happily researching. Looks like the trick was using the word "simultaneous". Anyway, it appears to be considered a good technique.

There is nothing wrong with using a diaphrahm and a condom. If properly inserted the condom wearer shold not feel the diaphrahm. They are designed to be unnoticeable to the male. It is also a backstop for condome failure of any sort.

Something no one says much about, but a condom can block menstural flow for thirty minutes too, if that is something you need once in a while.

This information was widely avaliable in the 60's.

Speaking of blocking blood flow. I've used my diaphragm once or twice for just this purpose. Usually at the tail end of my cycle. Sometimes you just don't want to have to wait and don't want to make a mess!
