Can someone diagnose this?

Hello All,

I just joined the swingers board and this is my first post.

I have a problem with my penis and I was hoping someone could diagnose my problem.

First I should say that I've been traveling regularly to Asia for nearly ten years now and in that time I've had bareback sex with literally hundreds of women.
Before you ask... Yes, I've been tested and treated for the regular STDs like gonorrhoea, chlamydia, syphilis - which I have picked up on occasion.

My problem: I have been circumcised and I have a foul smelling odour that comes from the area where the skin bunches up and folds around the head of my penis. The area is often damp and the odour is similar, if not the same as I'd get around my crotch when sweating.

I've taken anti-biotics, which didn't help. The only thing that seems to get rid of the odour is if I rub 'savlon' (anti-septic) cream into it on a daily basis.
When I stop using the cream the odour returns.

I should also mention that I'm a very clean person and I usually shower twice daily, so this is not just a case of poor personal hygiene.

Since it seems superficial, I would suspect some kind of yeast or bacterial issue, but the fact that it hangs on is puzzling. Boxers may help air circulation, and believe it or not, your diet may be an issue.
Your GP is the place to start and if that fails, consult with an infectious disease doc who will take in to account your travel and sexual past.

Since the skin bunches up & folds around the head of your penis smegma accumulates under the skin. Smegma is very normal & if cleaned too much w/ harsh soap will produce more & have a strong odor. Try using baby soap to wash it & rinse with peroxide. Put a little peroxide on a wash cloth & rub around the areas where the skin folds. The smell will return to normal very quickly. Hope this helps.

My first thought was a bacterial infection as well. It sounds similar to VB in women, and I know that that can be passed to guys (but I don't know how it affects guys). As others said, see a doctor - that's the only good way to get it diagnosed and get the RIGHT medicine to clear it up.

Not a doc but.....it's easy to guess you have some kind of fungi or bacteria that is there on your skin that is a bit out of control.

Is there a reason you won't just keep using the cream? And have you told a doc you have to use the cream or did you just get antibiotics that didn't work and give up?

I took a reach, rubbed down under my ball sack. And then took a smell.. Yep, smelled like.. Me. My normal, man, could shower.. or not... smell. Then I used the other hand, on my skin dick scar area.... and smelled it too.
Bad idea... I had scratched my ass crack previously and it smelled like ass That was the end of that research....

Is there any chance you may have cross contaminated the sample area ? I mean, I know I was a bit confused with the, ass crack smell.

I washed my hands and started over .

Then, I tried getting a good rub again on the missing skin dick area. And, sure enough.... kinda smelled like balls....
I don't know at this point myself. I'm thinking, Its not a strong smell, but still smells like the general area. I cant say it smells repulsive.... It smells like ... Me...

Well there again...I'm thinking I may need your help, should I become concerned about myself now... We would like a report of how things go at the doctors.... I mean, how would I ask my doctor, even though I show no signs of anything wrong... to compare smells from different areas around my Cock and Balls..... This would get complicated...

My reference to my Asia travels was because with the number of partners I've had i suspect I may have picked up some kind of strange South East Asian virus only seen deep in the jungle.
The STD clinic have told me before that I've picked up some strains that they've never seen before.. but then that's not a surprise when you consider some of the sleazy establishments I frequent.

I realise it's normal to have cock and balls odour, but this is something different.. it wasn't there before.

I know seeing a doctor would be the logical way to go, but as you said.. what should I say? "can you tell me if my cock and balls smell normal?"

I'll try that peroxide treatment and see how it goes..

Thanks.. I'll try this treatment. I've never used peroxide for anything.. I guess I can just get it at the supermarket?

For those who suggested seeing a doctor.. I'm not really sure. Every time I visit the STD clinic they seem insistent on jamming something down the eye of my cock. Thanks for your reply Tribbles... the reason I don't want to just keep on using the cream is that I suspect there's something wrong and I think the cream is just masking the odour.

I will say I have a great G.P. There have been many threads I have seen where people are not open with their doctors about their sexual adventures. I for one finally found a doctor that I trust. He's someone I feel comfortable saying anything to..... I think he looks forward to my visits sometimes.
