Well, if I understand it correctly, it's not an STD, but rather an endocrine problem.

So, I can't see why you couldn't swing. There is nothing communicable about it.

With PCOS you might have problems with your self-image (skin, hair, weight) and trouble with getting pregnant, and some risk for cancer, but it's nothing that should stop you from swinging if you enjoy it.
I'm having PCOS myself, and knowing that it is a real healt matter (not cureable so far, but there are meds to help with the symptoms) rather then just me being ugly has helped me a lot to get over the self-image problem.

Because PCOS is a syndrome, there are many different aspects to it. It is most certainly NOT a "disease".

It's an area of research that I concentrated on when I was in the health care field, and one of the things that makes a common thread is the role of insulin resistance. One of the ways to help with insulin resistance, which can actually be quite effective, and that you have control of, is diet and exercise.

Here's a decent article that I just found:

PCOS and DIET by Martha McKittrick

Good luck. Educating yourself is your best tool.

Could you ask your GYN about some of the myths vs truths you are hearing. Reguarding sex with anyone even your partner ?

I know we have a pretty good relationship with Mrs.funs Gyn now.

I've been with a gal who's got the same condition & it's certainly shouldn't put any kind of damper on your activities.

And to user: "Avid" -- thanks for the link! I'll have to send that to my gal who has this condition to see if there's any information on there she needs.

I have PCOS, and it has never stopped me from hooking up. Sure, I have many of the symptoms of PCOS . . . weight issues, acne . . . I just make my flaws known to potential partners in the beginning.

I tell them that I am a big girl and that I have acne. Most of them ask why, and I explain PCOS to them. Most guys forget about the flaws and get really happy about the not being able to get pregnant thing!
