| Here to Stay | I have a question that has interested me for quite a while. If a person has a coldsore on the mouth, which is, also Herpes, and gives oral sex to another: who has a cut, from shaving, etc., or a scratch on the penis after masturbation, or in the vagina, from sharp fingernails, can the receiving individual get Genital Herpes? Is that the way Genital Herpes began? I only had a coldsore once, when I was a teenager, and after it cleared up, never experienced such again. Thank you for any reply. Jeok ![]() |

Oral or Genital herpes just tells the location of the virus, HSV 1 or HSV2 is the type of herpes. You dont even need a cut, though it does make it more opportune. |

| SPAMMER | My understanding is that you would pass on Herpes I ( the cold sore kind) to the vaginal area or penis which ever is being oralized.. which means folks could get cold sore blisters there.. At that point if it happened to me..I'd wonder how you could tell the difference between I and II..tests for herpes II would rule it out, so you could find out.. probably is.. so many people don't have active symtoms.. I would wonder if all the people who say the are disease free actually had a full std test what might show up.. and some of this stuff doesn;t show on tests.. HPV does not show for men but it will for women..so if you are male and your female partner is positive for HPV you might assume you have it.. There are several kinds of HPV..one can cause cervical cancer in women.. and I want to be in this life style really bad..but mine and my partners medical back grounds keep having us asking questions.. I think at some point lust just takes over.. anybody out there wanna play with us..we have herpes II. |

You can click this link to read it, if you haven't already. One thing I wanted to add though is that in order to transfer Herpes, you must be actively shedding the virus. While it is possible to shed the virus without having the tell-tale sores yet, if it has been several weeks, or years in your case, their is very little risk that you could be shedding the virus. It is commonly believed that shedding occurs from slightly before the sores appear, (a day or two) until shortly after the sores have totally cleared up.

| Here to Stay | Thanks All. I've had enounters with several persons who had active coldsores and altho' most of the women were very attractive and desireable, I had this nagging feeling deep inside myself to back-off and not engage in sex with them. I am a very oral sort, and love kissing and giving oral sex to a lady, but in these cases, I declined. I believe your body has a knowledge and warns one of such dangers and, since I acknowledge these warnings, have never had an STD. Inspite of this, I have myself tested yearly, even tho' I haven't had any relations with others since my wife passed over. I did alot of Vanilla Dating, where I am always upfront that I am; have been a Swinger ... these same women, who really express they wish to move in and take care of me, then, head for the hills, and are the one's who've given me all of these feelings of "veboden." I have never had that feeling with those people with whom I've had intimate relations or consider having such. Thanks for the feed-back...Dr Who is on right now and I LOVE that show. Jeok :lo![]() |
