I would tell them. But how exactly does one diplomatically tell their partners they've caught and std? "By the way, Steve, have you by any chance noticed any burning when you urinate? No, well you might want to get tested anyway, because I didn't notice any either."

Yes, we would tell our playmates. Rarely does a person get just one STD from unprotected sex. Chlamydia and gonorrhea are frequent traveling companions. Infections that cause genital sores raise the risk of getting HIV at the same time.

I think you have a responsibility NOT to play if you have an STD. Period.
