I am going to talk to my doctor next week so I want to know what I am asking to get tested for exactly. How often should the test be done? Since we have yet to play I am confident we are clean. My husband has to have one done once a year as part of his physical (he is military) After we start swinging should we go get one after each encounter? How long after the encounter since I know some dieases take longer to show up then others in the test. I'm just curious since I have never had a need to ask for an STD test. I'm just curious as to others handle this issue. |

They probably have a testing center near you-and will do a more sensitive test than you likely to get at your doctors. Now, that said, you also need to make sure your partners are tested. Testing and condoms both can reduce risk--and can even both be used for the ultimate in safety. Good luck here. |

Status: Married Female SLS Name:DGrey | ANother important thing to keep in mind is to get tested privately, ie not under your insurance. Insurance companies can be very fickle things when it comes to wanting to know WHY you're getting tested for STDs and AIDS. It's best to just pay out of pocket and go to a local clinic specializing in STD/AIDS testing. E&D |
