Do people trade STD test results beforehand?

hi all - just found this board and appreciate the thoughtfulness of the community. i've read through a lot of posts and have a couple of questions...

my girl and i have been thinking of swinging but we (mostly me) are neurotic about getting an std. do people show up with recent test results or verification in hand or is it a trust / honor system?

i'm wondering if there are any websites where you could have your results available for you to show or e-mail to people you want to hook up with. any thoughts / feedback would be greatly appreciated.

there is a great place in LA to get checked and they do some type of verification for the adult film industry - www.aim-med.org. good luck!

AIM's prices are pretty expensive... I'd suggest simply going to a local health clinic for tests since the prices are usually income based.

As for the original question, there are no such webservices that I am aware of. I would seriously doubt how many people would use such a service - or keep it up to date, for that matter. I don't think it'd be more useful than simply using common sense.

You are only as safe as the last time you had sex, so unless you were going to do the exclusive thing with a couple, it wouldn't mean much beyond your inital peace of mind.

Chicup has a good point. There is some risk involved, and the more partners are involved the greater the risk. However, if everyone is a responsible adult (which most seem to be in the lifestyle) and takes their own precautions, then you can lower your risk.
there have been some articles written about there being a lower STD rate within the lifestyle than in the general population becuase people are more careful, more likely to use a condom, and less likely to use drugs. I'll try and find these articles...

This questions is actually the reason why me and my girl have stayed on the level of just talking about swinging and stayed in the safety of have sex in the same room as other couples (with heavy petting all around). I know, we are a bit paranoid, but better safe then sorry. I know this would be quite unreasonable to expect, but wouldn’t it be nice to have on-premises clubs that require clean STD screening upon entrance? A guy can dream right?

Either way it's gonna be a trust/honor system. How hard would it be to either come up with a legitimate looking test result paper, or to "borrow" one from someone who had one? Do you ask for ID from the people you play with? Most of the time we don't ask for last names.

Plus, for all you know, they could have caught something after they were tested. Some things don't show up on tests right away either.

I'd say if even with precautions, you feel the STD risk is unacceptable, then you're better off to not swing.
