Questions about condoms

I don't have much experience using condoms. I've used 1 maybe twice my whole life. If we (my sweetie & me) ever do get into this lifestyle, they would be a must. My question for those that use them is how often do you have breakage problems? Also, what are your name brand prefrences? Any of them better than the others for stregnth and sensitivity?

Trojan condoms rarely break, but that's probably because they seem thicker than other brands, which cuts down on sensitivity. Lifestyles condoms are thinner and more sensitive, but are still strong enough to be considered pretty reliable. Stay away from the generic condoms that are often given away at adults stores, public hospitals and family planning clinics. Opinions differ, so you might want to try a variety of different brands to find out which ones work best for you. Regardless of which brand you use, be sure to pinch the tip of the condom as you apply it to your penis. This will eliminate any air bubbles which may reduce the sensitivity and increase the chance of breakage.

Breakage hasn't really been a big problem for us. (knock on "wood")

This may sound a little "odd", but I would suggest at some point, buying a box and do a little practicing putting them on. Maybe it's just me, but sometimes in the heat of the moment, that little piece of latex can kick your ass when you're trying to put it on

It's just one hassle you don't want to have when "the time is right".

I'm glad to see that you are thinking ahead - we said the same thing also. You can't be too careful or responsible!!!

I think that you should buy a couple of different brands, as already suggested, and conduct your own private testing That does two things for ya'll - 1. You both get experience in actually using condoms 2. You can see which type works best for you. All of the brands Greg and Sheryl suggested are good, and we have had some luck with the Durex brand too.

i have only had a condom break on me once since we have started swinging. Luckly nothing bad came from that...whew!

I agree with all the above noted suggestions. You get what you pay for so buy the better quality brands. Definately practice, I have seen my own hubby struggle and he uses them all the time.

My first advice is "buy a new condom"... Heck, buy a whole box. Its a good investment

Seriously, I've never broken one or had one slip off. A guy my wife played with had it slip off, but that has happened only once.

I agree with the others above: buy a good brand (Trojan is reliable) and go ahead and practice. It will aleviate your worries and make you look a little less clumsy when you have to slip one on in a hurry.

While I will agree that buying a "good" brand is ideal, I will say that I've had "good" brands break on me three times. Twice while my wife and I were still dating (which required a rush to get the morning after pill both time) and once while swinging (which I caught before I came so I was able to change rubbers).

Just my $0.02 worth.
