| Swingers Board Addict | Don't mean to be a whiner on this topic but I had it done 2 weeks ago. The procedure went ok........no picnic though. I have had constant (pressure) in my balls and dick since the vasectomy and thought I was just being a wimp, until we had sex. There was a lot of blood in my semen. I didn't know if this was normal so after the third time having sex with blood still present in my semen I called my doctor. Come to find out, I have a bad infection. The doctor put me on antibiotics and everything seems to be feeling better. I was afraid to say anything because everyone told my this would be a piece of cake and I din't want to seem whimpy. One question to those who have had this..........how long before my wife will be able to fondle and grasp my penis without it hurting? The area of the incisions at the base of the penis is still very sore and tender to touch. thanks again everyone for advise and encouragement. Dave |

Real sorry to hear ithat in this case t was you. Sounds like the pain you feel is due to the infection rather than a side-effect of the vasectomy itself. So, once that is under control you should be back to normal quickly. Just one last thing, my medical opinion is worth about as much as you are paying for it, so make sure you take any concerns to you Dr. promptly. Sorry again that you had a bad time of it. (I was one of the ones who told you it would be a piece of cake.) |

I know it's not quite the same, but when I got my wisdom teeth taken out I ended up getting an infection in my gums, it definately slowed down healing and made life no fun for a bit. Just remember your situation isn't normal, but it will get better. |

I don't chime in on vasectomy discussions because I had a bleed in my scrotom and was literally months getting over it and 4 of my friends had it done the same year and 3 of them had infections and were months getting completely over it. Do what your doc says including what underwear to wear. Hang tuff man, it does get better, it's just a slow go.

| Swingers Board Addict | I remember being real sore for about two weeks, but I couldn't jump up and down stairs for about four or five. (I only made that mistake once). I didn't have any infections, but the doc had me on meds from the get-go. It will get better and soon you wil be back to your "normal" self. P

I'm extremely glad that I got my V done several years ago, but I can feel your pain, and irritation over a bad experience. I have a buddy who had his down about 6 years ago, went back to work the next morning (in construction), and developed a "severe" hemorrhage into his scrotum. His scrotum was the size of a basketball. All said and done.....he was bruised from his nipple line to his ankles, and sore for 4 months. He looks back on all the problems that he had, and his ONLY regret is going back to work so soon. Good Luck ![]() |

Within a week I had all but forgotten that I had the procedure done. Best thing I ever did. Now I am purely a sports model...that is purely for fun and pleasure! Get well, and enjoy. ![]() |

Your friend and I could sit down and swap stories that would have other grown men fainting. Mine popped when I picked up a 120 lb box and threw it on an overhead shelf. I think I actually heard the "pop". Nothing like sitting there with your scrotum turning black, swelling like it's hooked to a air hose and the pressure on your testicles feeling like they are being run over by a truck. ![]()

| Here to Stay | After our third child my normally pleasant wife came to me one beautiful afternoon, grabbed me by the crotch with a pair of vice-grips and said "For Valentine's day this year, I'm getting a vasectomy for my gift. Should we handle it right now? Or would you prefer to speak to a medical professional?" At least that's the way I remember it, her story is that she asked me nicely and I said I would do it because I love her more than life itself, or something along those lines.... Anyway, I did EXACTLY what the Dr. told me to, and felt fine afterwards, although I did the John Wayne Walk for awhile. So now, I'm a Sunkist Orange - all juice and no seed! I have to tell you though that ever since my vasectomy my left testicle has been tender to the touch. I feel for you, and I think I might go see a different urologist, just to make sure everything is okay, and that he recommends the same course of treatment you are getting from your current Dr. CuriousAgain, your story made my eyes water! I have referred nearly thirty men (all from our local lifestyle's groups) to this urologist and they reported the same thing. THe one curious side effect we have all reported is an amazing increase in sex drive...I thought I was the only one until the wives started talking and apparently we all get stiff now with just the mention of legs, thighs, breasts...and that was in a Kentucky Fried Chicken! See another urologist as I have not seen any of the issues you have raised in all the men in our group. |

Once that was behind me though, I couldn't get enough sex; still can't. Not that I ever could, come to think of it. Sorry to hear about your troubles though. Hope you get to feeling better soon. excess Last edited by excess : 04-18-2005 at 02:58 PM. | |
